Rockhampton, Queensland

After Biloela we headed for Rockhampton to the Caravan Park we usually stay at.

Rockhampton is a city with approximately 78,600 people living in it.  These days it's an agriculture and industrial centre plus a tourist destination.

The road to Mount Morgan, Queensland.

The above photo was taken from the vehicle as we drove around the round a bout, it's a large bull.

These flowers were at one of the stores in Rockhampton, Queensland.

Love the wrought iron on the building below.  Above give some idea of a house in Rockhampton.

    1. It is a pleasant city to visit and stay for a week, the main shopping area/street is very long with a shopping complex towards the end of it that is rather large with a smaller one more in the city itself.

  2. The buidings are very nice. The bull in the round about is pretty impressive. Our roundabouts, in the ones I see, have sculptures too.
    Have a wonderful day.

    1. It's a very tall bull, once you could get a good photo of it but now that the road has changed you can't.
I bet those sculptures are good in your round a bouts.

  3. También a mí me ha encantado ese hierro forjado, que adorna el edificio.Además dispone de unas buenas terrazas, para poder ver desde allí el paisaje.

    1. Newly renovated was the wrought iron, it really stood out as we drove past, unfortunately couldn't find a parking place to get a better photo of it.

  4. Your photos so often remind me how much I love our country towns (even if they have grown to be big enough to call themselves a city). Thank you.

    1. Thanks EC. The towns well some of them are small then depends on the happenings there they become such larger cities, some towns just fade away.

  7. Beef cattle country - thus the statue of the bull.
The main stud breed there now is the BRANGUS - Red or Black.
    A meat lovers delight.

Those orchids as shown are a special type. I've forgotten their name.
    Maybe Lee can assist?

"Rocky" as it is affectionately called by the locals is a very impressive "city".
