That time of year again!

Wattle time here in Tasmania.  I do love to see wattle flowers, they stand out amid the green trees in the paddocks and our bush.  

We went last weekend to where I usually take photos of wattle but unfortunately the trees had been removed so I had to find another place.   Some of the wattle was out and some not.  

The Wattle

 It's Wattle time once again, so off we went to find some in flower which wasn't very hard to do.  All the wattle isn't out as yet and we were only about 10 to 15 minutes west from home.

The wattle in the photos is known as Acacia pataczekil, commonly known as Pataczek's wattle or Wally's wattle, is a rare leguminous species of flowering plant endemic to Tasmania, Australia.  An attractive evergreen shrub to small tree grown ornamentally outside of it's native range, it is believed to be the most frost hardy of all the Acacia.

The Lake is called Trevally Lake and you can see the wattle across it on the other side.

In another area close by there is another place to have a picnic, the loos above and the shelter below with a fireplace and a chimney with wood provided along with table and chairs.

As we were driving through the neighbourhood where the houses are we came across this peacock wandering around as if he owned the place.

Last day of Winter

We went from Launceston to Scottsdale on the last day of winter and I took these shots at a rest stop with a view of the valley below which is the rural town of Scottsdale in the North Eastern area of Tasmania. Lovely to see the Tasmanian Wattle out as well.

Many bends in the road which is called the Sidling, then we went down the east coast going through Welborough Pass another windy road to St. Helens, then back up to St. Mary's Pass another windy road, but fun in the new car.  I drove so couldn't take any photos other than the ones below.

The new car which is a Kia Selton GT AWD 2023 model top of the range Petrol car. It has a few different things in it than in Europe and America as this model shown is for Australia. The roads we take sometimes don't have electric stations so hence the petrol, and seeing as we go (sometimes) for a long ride when we go we would need to refuel etc.

The rest stop not far from Scottsdale and just off the Sidling with a good view of the rual area.  Some of the photos were taken with my Nikon and some with my phone.

Wattle

We went for a short drive on Sunday when the weather wasn't the best, drizzly rain on and off.  Came upon some wattle so took a couple of different varieties with my phone in normal shooting mode and portrait mode. I guess it's rather easy to choose which is which.

I just love wattle.

A few things we appreciate

Travelling great distances in a day it's wonderful to see pretty things.

At Merredin, WA I took the photo below of a typical Australian Gumtree in these neck of the woods with the sun setting.

Further down the road we came across the Wattle flowering, then a lot further on the Canola growing in the paddock.  When you see Canola you know you are getting towards civilization, well at least for awhile.

Spring Wattle

Before leaving Tasmania, Australia the spring wattle was blooming and I didn't get the opportunity to take a photo of it, but on the drive up to Queensland I did.

I had no idea these insects were on the wattle when I took the shot.

Spring Flowers!

Springtime is one of my favourite times of the year, to see the new blooms coming out, nature at it's best. Driving down the highway to my dads, in some areas I am greeted along the way on both sides with all the Wattle Trees out in bloom, so the bush is almost ablaze with the colour yellow and it's so pretty amongst the green.  The blossoms are just about finished now.

After arriving I noticed in the garden where my mother's roses are still, this lone tulip.
