A sunset

When staying in the caravan park at Wynard in Autumn for once I wasn't cooking dinner or talking to others so was able to take these sunset photos.

The first one was taken at the beach a few steps away from the caravan and then the other one was inside the caravan park.

A Shark Killed a Man in Broome, WA

Tragic news from Broome in Western Australia (WA) where a shark attacked and killed a man off Cable Beach where the man was body surfing.  His body was recovered. This happened a few days ago.  The last time a shark killed a man was back in 1993.  The beach has been closed for the time being.

 My photos of Cable Beach when we were there 5 years ago.  It's a small town with this beautiful beach where people come to watch the sunsets, have picnics on the sand mainly for their evening meal.  The town is isolated as there are no large towns or cities near it.

I have included a map. Broome is about 6,000km from home here in Launceston, Tasmania.  There of course is a shorter route by vehicle but for a part of it is just a track.

Gretna Hotel, Tasmania

Beautiful inside is the Gretna Hotel established about 1862 very homely with the publican being very helpful.
There is a paddock to the right and to the back of the hotel which the Publican offers for Caravaner's and RV's to park for a night or two.
Meals are offered at the hotel Friday and Saturday nights, but we were there on the Sunday night in March.  Visited Hobart for one night to attend an family picnic then moved on through New Norfolk to Gretna for the night.

Richmond River, Ballina. Queensland.

Parked by the Richmond River at a Caravan Park in Ballina, Queensland. The river was just across the road, people fishing, some watching the sun-setting.
Each of the first 3 photos were taken each night we stayed there.

In and around Merredin, Western Australia

We left Moora at 9.30am and went through New Norcia (previous post), arrived in Merredin at 3.30pm.  We bought some diesel before looking for a Caravan Park or a place to park the Caravan for the night.
The place we chose is [ here ] and is what I posted about that time.
 
Merredin is small town in the Central Wheatbelt of Western Australia, about halfway between Perth and Kalgoorlie.
The first European explorer into the area was the Surveyor General J. S. Roe, who travelled through the region in 1836 but was not impressed by its dryness and the low rainfall.
The town became first known as a stopover on the way to the Goldfields of Kalgoorlie.

It was about this area where we began to see water pipes which carry water from Perth to Kalgoorlie.

Spent the night here at a Free Park, and caught the sun as it was setting on the gumtrees.

The scenery was the same as the photo all the way to Kalgoorlie.

Uluru (Ayers Rock) at Sunset NT

 We are now home, it's easier to show the photos of our 3 months journey in more detail.

There is just something about Uluru (Ayers Rock) especially at sunset.  The colours change as the sun begins to set.  It's a long journey to see it, but worth it for me.

The above photo was taken not that long before sunset began, it's where I stood till the sunset ended.

The Sunsets at the beach

We have been away down the East Coast of Tasmania for a week, arrived home today.  We stayed in the caravan in caravan parks at different towns along with way. The shower works well.
Had a baked dinner cooked in the gas oven, was delicious and turkey once again.

It's good that I could still read blogs and comment, however the previous posts were done in advance. The Google App for blogging isn't much good for uploading photos, it usually manages one photo, odd occasion 3 so it's best not used till it's improved, plus there is the data that ones uses whilst travelling, home has much more.
Took my crochet with me but never got any done.
The caravan is comfortable and the only thing that I have to do is use the washing machine to see if it works ok.

The above photo at sunset was taken looking towards St. Helens facing west.

Same place as above.  There was a boy about 10 years old who was watching the sunset beside me, he was very friendly, he lived across the road and would see this view from his parents house.

This photo was taken at another beach on the opposite side of the point, so the sun is setting behind me.

The above photo taken on the opposite side of the point as well, lots of sand dunes that go for miles/km to the right.  There are competitions or whatever they are called held there in the summer time.  It's not long till winter, only a matter of days now.

The View from the Residence.

Yesterday I looked out the window and saw the sunset so took these photos of it and the Maroochy River here on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.  These photos were taken from the balcony.

The Spit.

The Spit as it's known is located in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
It's where Jessica Watson the 16 year old who sailed solo around the world a few years ago in the Pink Lady, sailed to her home port.

On the way back from The Spit I took a photo of an Apartment as it was the only one lit up.

Winter Sunset over the Sea. Devonport, Tasmania. Australia.

Devonport is in North Western Tasmania, Australia at the mouth of the Mersey River.  It's also known as the Gateway to Tasmania no doubt due to the Ferry from Devonport to Melbourne, Australia going across Bass Strait.
Devonport is a small city, and it's where my dad lives in his two story house. Today I took some photos of a typical winters sunset with a mild evening.

The first photo is the view from dads house, and the pink/orange can just been seen at the horizon along with a few clouds to the left.  The beach is to the right just down the hill, to the left is more ocean plus rural scenery.  From the kitchen, dinning room, lounge room, each of the 4 bedrooms, plus the billiard room along with the two garages, the patio upstairs and down I can see the sea.  My father of course knows of this view and sometimes can tell me what the sea is like, a lot of it is from memory :) for those whom don't know, my dad is legally blind.

Pardoo, Western Australia

At Pardoo in Western Australia there is a Road House in the middle of 'nowhere', so it seems.  Often destroyed by Cyclones and rebuilt over the years.  It's a friendly place, it has to be because you don't see one person to talk to for such a long distance.
At Pardoo you can have a lovely light meal in the Licensed Restaurant , there is a grassed Caravan Park, plus other Accommodation.  Having travelled on this Great Northern Highway a few times. 'Grass' is so wonderful to see and walk on after all the 'Bulldust'.
Pardoo is about 460km from Broome in WA, and 150km north of Port Headland.
