Autumn around the Pond.

Punchbowl Reserve which I've shown before but not these photos taken in our Autumn, I forgot to post them at the time.  A walk along the path and around a pond is rather pretty and it always changes from year to year.  

The Punchbowl, Launceston, Tasmania.

The Punchbowl Reserve is a good place to have a picnic or a walk around the pond, have a game of cricket in the summer or football in winter, or just run around.  There is a playground for children as well.

The Turbo Chook or Tasmanian Native Hens are good swimmers' fast runners with strong legs therefore some people call them 'turbo chooks'. The chooks can run up to 50km hour are plentiful near marshes, rivers and so on. The Native Hen is protected, and they don't fly.

Oak Tree in the Park.

 Autumn tree in City Park, Launceston, Tasmania.  It's an Oak tree and all the trees in the park have been planted and some are native to Australia.

Play area and water fountain.  I used to bring my children here to play years ago and not much has changed just renovations. 

The City Park has several entrances which are locked at sunset, open sunrise I believe, this is one entrance.

It's Autumn

The autumn leaves at Hollybank Nature Reserve not far from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.  I've shown photos before of this area but not these photos only the last one a few years back.  This area is a picnic area and there are many walks to take in the bush.

Ross, Tasmania

Ross is such a gorgeous town in my book, it has a lot of history attached to it, was settled in 1821.

Ross developed as a base for the local garrison and became a centre for trade for the surrounding district.  

The town is on the Midland Highway on the way to Hobart in Tasmania. The highway these days goes around the town of Ross but we often call into the town for a look and rest.

We were there last Easter and it's when I took these photos.

Richmond Churches, Tasmania.

On Easter Saturday at Richmond, Tasmania we decided to visit two Churches.
First is St. John's Catholic Church which was built in 1836 and is regarded as being the oldest Catholic Church in Australia.
There is a school attached to the Church both being near the Richmond Bridge.

The photo directly below is of the doorway to the Richmond Goal which I covered extensively in 4 posts in June 2016.

St. Luke's Anglican Church below which was built in 1834 so being older than the Catholic Church in Richmond.

These boxes are attached to the pillars being very visible on the way out the Church.
