We headed to other beaches below the Sunshine Coast but of course it's still classed as the Sunshine Coast and came across Dicky Beach plus a few others.
Looking out to sea we found many ships sailing with their cargo on board.  We stood for ages watching in the distance as those ships sailed by.

Went to the Maroochye River and found this beautiful pelican.

The Big Top, Sunshine Coast.

The Big Top on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

The Big Top on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland has been renovated and was closed when we visited in 2016, but open once again and certainly revamped with some shops gone and new ones taken their place. My phone took the photos and it is very nice inside much improved from before.

We are still some distance from Melbourne in Victoria then on the ship and home to Tasmania in Winter 2017.

Headed to the Sunshine Coast and below.

Headed to the Sunshine Coast it was a 2 and a 1/2 hours drive, stayed for a few days.  Visited one of my husbands Aunties in Brisbane for the day.
There are several photos of the Sunshine Coast on this blog from the past, the visit last year didn't take many photos at all of the area.

The tunnel photos are on the highway south to Ballina.  Some have lights in them and some don't.
Last photo is of the most Eastern Point in Australia!

This lighthouse at Byron Bay is situated near the most Eastern area of Australia.

The people come to take a short walk to that area, of course it cost money to do so, the parking is dreadful and lucky if you get a park at all.

I remember going here when there wasn't a fee, wasn't a really popular place like now.

Byron Bay was a Hippy Town way back and it's grown somewhat over the years.  We drove from Ballina to Byron Bay a short distance for a quick visit.

Whilst we were on our holiday, a blogger friend and her husband came to stay in the Apartment block where we stayed.  It was wonderful to meet them both for the very first time.  What a cheerful, happy couple.

The Spit, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast.

The Spit is located in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.  It's easy to find with a lovely beach.  The surrounding area is not crash hot for a holiday place.

A Marina is not far from the Spit, and that blue building is part of Underwater World where by there are creatures of the sea housed there.

Sunshine Castle, Sunshine Coast.

Work commenced on the Castle in 1972, completed in 1973, it's a Norman/Medieval Castle. The Castle caters for Weddings and many functions including Opera.
The original throne from the set of Xena The Warrior Princess and Hercules which were filmed in New Zealand are on display.  There are fairytale displays and many doll displays with dolls from all walks of life and countries.  For us it was something different.

This is the loo/toilet which was called the Privy, which was situated as far away from the chambers as practical and often had double doors to keep away the smell. The Privy was sited at the end of a short passage in an outside wall, similar to a balcony over a moat or river. The Privy had no glass and was completely open.  It was fitted with a wooden or stone bench with a hole in it.  Chutes were provided for the discharge which often lead to the Castle Moat.

Around and about!

A collection of photos taken around and about the Maroochydore area.  Some taken from the balcony where we are staying at Picnic Point in Maroochydore, Queensland. We have been here for just over 4 and 1/2 weeks and leave at the weekend to drive down to Melbourne, Victoria to catch the ferry home back to Tasmania, Australia.

This holiday is the one we had been waiting for, having changed it 5 times due to my father's illness, then his death at aged just over 90.  It's been a very restful holiday, having time to think things through and sort things out. 

Plenty of Pelicans about.  Some of them sit on top of the pole that holds two lights near enough opposite to where we are staying.

Apartments where people like us stay. I expect one or two people may live in them.  There is a height limit on the Sunshine Coast for the buildings, but I believe the Council is thinking of lifting it if the rate payers agree.

A drive!

The other day we took a drive northward to Noosa, Tewantin and Eumundi.
Noosa is a cute beach resort with lots of little streets, like a rabbit warren and one can get lost, but we didn't, not his time.  Tewantin is a village not far from Noosa, having 3 major banks, supermarket, dress and shoes shops.  Eumundi is a small village inland in the hills and is known for it's markets two times a week.

Whilst at Noosa a young boy came and asked me all about my camera, he said he would like one as he was very interested in photography, so therefore asking my advice.  Later his mother came over and proceed to quiz me more.  I do hope I was of some help.

At Eumindi we had lunch, and whilst eating a man joined us with his little dog and told us of some of the gossip of Eumindi :)
