Down by the sea at sunset

A sunset down by the sea at Wynyard on the north west coast of Tasmania, Australia.  The sea is Bass Strait.

Some photos that I forgot to post back in mid spring taken on one of our drives.  

These photos were taken at a rest area near Wynyard along the north west coast of the Island.  We bought lunch and sat on this seat, watched the little yachts doing their races, we looked towards Tablecape where the Tulips are grown.

The sea is Bass Strait.

We've stayed many times in our caravan at Wynyard on the North West Coast of Tasmania, Australia.  Now the caravan park is closed due to the owners being elderly and not well.  Yes, we will have to find somewhere else to stay in that area as the town is a sweet one and has all those things one needs in a town.

Here are few photos which I've never shown before - a Sunset looking one way, then the other way along with a straight view ahead of the beach a few steps from the caravan park and Bass Strait, the sea.

When staying in the caravan park at Wynard in Autumn for once I wasn't cooking dinner or talking to others so was able to take these sunset photos.

The first one was taken at the beach a few steps away from the caravan and then the other one was inside the caravan park.

View from the Hills.

The view of farmland behind Wynyard in Northern Tasmania up in the hills.  Some of the farm houses have a view of Bass Strait.  The fourth photo down you can just see Table Cape where the tulips are grown and exported to the Netherlands.  The tulip photo I took up on Table Cape in springtime.

Fishing Boats

Back at Wynyard along the North West Coast..  Inglis River is tidal as it comes from Bass Strait the sea that separates Tasmania from the State of Victoria.  A lot of fishing goes on from here as well as sailing.

The river is 61 km long and extends to the Campbell Rangers.

Also here is a Fish n Chip Shop which I've never taken a photo of as far as I can recall.  The meal is ok but they don't make their own batter or their own chips, they buy in fish already battered so every piece of fish is the same shape and the chips are frozen coming in a sealed bag to be cooked.  This is not my idea of 'real' fish n chips but that's the way things are today!

At Wynyard

Wynyard is a lovely place, it's friendly and clean.  It's along the north west coast of Tasmania, Australia.

The first photo is of part of the caravan park we always stay in in Wynyard, we stayed just over a week the last time we stayed there.  The owners house is straight ahead. Two photos after the 1st is what comes up on the beach and what is in the sea water just a few steps away, then my foot.  Well I don't always have a paddle in the sea :)

 

 

Below, we discovered another beach up the road so had to visit and discovered that some people park their vehicles on the beach.

We sometimes buy a snack at the place where the black sign is and this children's playground is only new with plenty of parking. It over looks the sea.

At the Wynyard Caravan Park in March 2020 and the below photos is the view from just a few steps from the Caravan Park....so from the mountains to the sea.

It's wonderful listening to the sea with it's waves rolling in with the tide late at night then early morning.

It's here we heard more about Covid-19 and that is was on/in our Island and had been for several days but not in the area where we were.  We stayed where we were, then headed back to Launceston to where our house/home is.

 

 

 

 

 

Up on that hill, Table Cape are tulips which are grown and can be viewed in springtime.

Up on top

Table Cape is a volcanic plug and is 180 meters above sea level.

Up on top of Table Cape, the flattish looking hill you can see from the Caravan Park in Wynyard (previous post) the farming area.

How wonderful to have view from the farm houses looking over the sea, Bass Strait.

Then the sea in the second photo is from the lookout looking towards Wynyard and surrounding areas. It was a windy hazy day.

Then we drove onwards and came across these Liliums, also in spring time there are usually tulips growing in the same area and at the tulip farm further down the road.

After leaving Stanley we headed to Wynyard is another rural town not far from Burnie, Tasmania.

It's by the sea with the caravan park we prefer to stay in situated next to the sea, 4 step and you are on the sand of the beach looking at Bass Strait...

Tulips & a Frog!

Yesterday my father suggested I go to Table Cape today to see the Tulips in bloom on a farm, so I did. It took me over 1 hours to get there. A lovely drive along the North West of Tasmania by the sea with beautiful views of very green hills down to the sea, with sheep and cattle scattered in the paddocks.

The farm grows the Tulips for an International market, their main aim is to see how large they can get the bulbs. The paddock of Tulips is rather small at 8 hectares = 20 acres but a lot of Tulips.

I stopped the car at a lookout to view the sea and happened to look sideways and saw a frog hopping on the road, so at some distance from it I took the photo, and I amazed that it was similar colour as the bitumen.
