Cherries

Just before Christmas we ventured out to find some ripe cherries which we did, the best ones we came across were $25.00 kg of good quality, of course there were some of lesser quality which we also bought, we have been back a few times.

Who likes Cherries?

On our way home from Wynyard here in Tasmania - yes, we have been away for one week staying in the our caravan.
It was windy and cool at the beach, but that didn't really matter, was great to get away once again.

The way home took us to the Cherry Shed, a cafe and where cherries are sold this time of year till about mid February.
Cherries are hand picked, washed and sold fresh to customers at The Cherry Shed in Spreyton near Devonport, Tasmania.  They are grown in fertile, volcanic soils and the temperate climate of Tasmania's North West.


At the shed they sell, Cherry Port, Cherry Liquer, jams, pickles, chutney, relish, sauces and heaps more.

We bought 2 kg of nice firm red cherries at $15.00 a kilo.  Will buy more again for Christmas as we will be down that way to put fresh flowers on my parents grave for Christmas.

For the children to play in, and these two cherries can be seen from the highway.

On our way to Wynyard we called into Devonport and had lunch at a Cafe.
