Bellbuoy Beach Road

Bellbuoy Beach is not that far from George Town in northern Tasmania, so the sea is Bass Strait.

Dennis and Ros Lawrence cattle farmers decided to subdivide their land for houses. 

It's the first time we have been into this area and we didn't go to the beach there.

I took some photos of  a few houses in the area, some new, some older.

Evandale, Tasmania

Evandale here in Tasmania is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from home.  It's an historic town with about 1,350 people.  Not much has changed in Evandale it's rather like moving back in time. When we visited my good friend we went for a little walk in the main street and I took these shots.

The last photo used to be a Restaurant which several of us frequented. 

Houses

Stanley houses.  The road is very narrow one vehicle wide, photos were taken from the car window to the best of my ability, further down the same road it became wider so out of the car to get better shots.

Most of the houses would have been built in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Stanley last week won the Tasmania, Australian Tourist Award for under 5,000 people and will compete for the Australia Award later in the year.

This house is the birth place of Joseph Lyons who was The 10th Prime Minister of Australia. Joseph was born in 1879 died in 1939. The above house is a tourist attraction.

Ross, Tasmania

After Campbell Town we travelled to Ross, Tasmania on the same day.

Ross is a historic town in thee Midland of Tasmania and the Macquarie River flows through the town.

The bridge was built of sandstone by the convicts. Completed in 1836.  Ross has much history.

A small house is the 2nd photo and the Post Office which opened in 1832. 

We had lunch at Ross, Scallop Pie and Vanilla Slice - just so tasty.

Architecture in Parkes, NSW

Time to move on to Parkes in NSW our next place of rest in winter 2019.
Parks has about 14,600 people in it's area.  Parkes has a 'Dish'  which is a Radio Telescope that's was assisted NASA in the past.
When the late Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon in 1969 it was this telescope that broadcast the happening around the world.

Population in 2018 was 11,224 people.

Photo of some of the Cabins in the Caravan Park in Parkes where we stayed.  
We stayed in one of these cabins years ago, it was freezing and have never stopped in a cabin since, always in a Motel/Hotel in our travels if we didn't take our caravan.

On top of a hill over looking the town is this War Memorial.

We drove around the streets so was able to take photos of some houses.

North West of Parkes NSW there is a little town called Trundle which is a cattle area, water was extremely short in the district and water was being carted by tankers to the area at a high cost.  

Houses of Narrabri, NSW

Other photos were of random houses as we drove by during our Sunday drive back in winter 2019.

The house below was once a shop because of it's verandah it's easy to tell.  Not many shops or corner shops left in the suburbs anymore.

Hideaway Bay, Queensland

Be safe and keep well!

The ferry we sail on to get to mainland Australia has now stopped bringing people in caravans and motor homes entering the State of Tasmania, but freight is still permitted. Our Premier announced that yesterday morning.  Tasmanians are permitted to return home but must quarantine for 14 days.

Hideaway Bay is a small town in the Whitsunday Region and not far from Proserpine where we stayed in the caravan park.

The view at Hideaway Bay is a beautiful place with most of the houses or shacks looking over the sea.  It's a quiet place with just over 200 people and no shops.  Not far to travel to some though. Part of the view and some houses of the area.
