The house below is closed due to Asbestos.
Other photos were of random houses as we drove by during our Sunday drive back in winter 2019.
The house below was once a shop because of it's verandah it's easy to tell. Not many shops or corner shops left in the suburbs anymore.
Cute little houses. I would miss the luxurious green lawn as we have here.
ReplyDelete:)
They are older houses and the grass is nearly dirt due to the drought last winter. Love to see a nice green lawn as we have at home here, not so green in summer though.
DeleteUn barrio con encanto. Bonita salida, Margaret.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
The streets and houses were rather tidy, sometimes you come across untidy gardens, old unwanted things around but most of these were fairly neat.
DeletePor la parte exterior, se ve muy cómodas para vivir. Me imagino que el interior será confortable.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Makes me wonder about the interiors of those houses, have they a modern kitchen, or just a normal kitchen and other rooms. I expect as long as it suits the owners, it doesn't have to suit me.
DeleteLove those bullnose verandahs.
ReplyDeleteOur first home in country NSW had one and I still miss them. The sound of rain on the tin roof was also a treat.
One of my sister in laws has a bullnosed verandah and it's modern house built not that long ago.
DeleteRain on the roof, have no idea what it sounds like these days as we have a tiled roof and you just don't know it's raining sometimes.
Se ven muy modernas y acogedoras.
ReplyDeleteCuídate.
Un abrazo.
To us Laura they are older houses as we don't have houses as old as the house where you are, totally different :)
DeleteTo remove the asbestos from that huge house will cost a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteI reckon it would cost a fair bit but then do the owners build a new house of renovate that one in the photos..
DeleteLots of solar panels--- good idea there!
ReplyDeleteWe have 19 solar panels here at home, saves heaps of money with the electricity as we don't have natural gas where we live.
DeleteWonderful old houses...wonderful architecture.
ReplyDeleteThe horror of asbestos....so many...too many affected by it...tragic.
So many people with asbestosis, many have passed on such a tragic thing, but people didn't know back then how deadly asbestos could be and is.
DeleteThe houses a rather nice.
Nice houses not so nice about the asbestos but so many old homes have it
ReplyDeleteThey are quite nice those houses, looked after and loved it seems by there appearance.
DeleteMost houses or many houses were built with asbestos years ago not knowing the disease that would come from it.
Great photos of the lovely houses in Narrabri. I have just checked in my diary of 2019 and we went through Narrabri on 26th August and got fuel there. Thanks for the tour of Narrabri as we went straight through on the main road! I must remember to drive around the streets a bit more when we travel next.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we don't stop at towns and explore for we have our minds set on going to another town to explore or we are in a hurry to get somewhere. It's always pleasing to stop and look around when you can.
DeleteThose are pretty houses. If you haven't mentioned, I wouldn't know the last house was a shop. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy.
DeleteMany houses with a shop attached were always similar back in the day.
Is the house that has been closed down due to asbestos insulation condemned or is it able to be retrofitted and reoccupied?
ReplyDeleteCould be refitted and reoccupied, depends on the cost of removing the asbestos
Deleteto the value of refitting or building a new house on the property.
It probably would be better to demolish and rebuild, that's what I would do.
Interesante Margaret. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa.
DeleteI see some owners have invested in solar panels. Great idea, the sun shines brightly there so you might as well take advantage.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Solar panels are a great thing, we have 19 on our roof and save a lot of money so far.
DeleteBuenas imagenes. Me encanta la serenidad que despiden esas casas
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was quiet there that day, not a bustling Sunday.
Deletenice article :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteBeautiful houses!
ReplyDeleteQuite nice for a country town Natalia.
DeleteSuperb houses, shame about the first one.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pity but there would have been many like that first one.
Deleteelegant houses dear Margaret
ReplyDeletei loved one with trees around most :)
so nicely taken images my friend!
It is nice that house Baili, there is just something about a house with trees, softens the houses.
DeleteThanks.
Good to see the houses and the solar panels :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
It is, not all houses have them, we do.
