Esk Caravan park, Queensland

The caravan park at Esk was lovely.  It was nearly empty when we arrived and by nightfall it was nearly full and was so full the next day.  People just came from everywhere to spend the weekend.
We were parked underneath a huge tree which we were thankful for due to the heat on a winters day.
In the evening time people started to gather in their groups in the camp kitchen and we wondered why - oh yes, entertainment by a wonderful group of singers - we did enjoy the tunes and their voices, they were good and came from Brisbane to perform their concert. They sang good pop songs, ones we knew and that makes a difference, they were not country either.
We didn't need to wander over to the camp kitchen because we could hear and see them so well...thoroughly enjoyed.

    1. Yes, it's popular Bill. It's far enough away from the cities in that area and not too far to travel for a weekend.

  5. The entertainment was a definite bonus. How enterprising of the caravan park owners to invite the singers.

    1. Was a bonus EC especially when we liked them, apparently they singers have a following. The park owners have those singers there several times a year I was told, they are popular.

  6. That's a nice memory. I suppose the park paid for the entertainment and reaped the reward with a very full park.

    1. 'Tis a lovely memory to have.
Yes, the park was full, apparently several people just came to listen to the singers which is good for the singers.
The park did pay for the entertainment as the park fee was as usual.

There was a Koala up one of those trees, didn't get a photo of it.

  9. I do enjoy most of the entertainment at caravan parks, and we have been entertained in quite a few on our travels, and sometimes even a camp dinner for a reasonable donation. It looks very nice at Esk. Thanks.

    1. You are welcome Rosie.
We are not that interested in entertainment in parks, only what we consider the 'good' ones :)

  10. If you could hear them well without wandering over there it must have been fairly loud and I would have found that quite intrusive. The assumption that one kind of music will appeal to all is usually erroneous and to impose it on everyone in this manner seems unreasonable to me. When I choose to attend a performance I, and all the others in attendance, choose what we wish to listen to, and are all of like mind. To experience this at a campground means that you have to listen to it whether you want to or not and I find that completely unacceptable.

I guess if you don't like the music you can pack up, hook the caravan on and drive off into the dark of the night and have no where to stay. It's part of the territory, part of accepting that other people in the caravan park like different music to you/us. When all said and done the park doesn't charge a fee to listen or go to see the performers perform plus the noise only goes for a few hours.
In the past we have had to endure such music that we didn't like when staying in a caravan park, it seemed we were the only ones that didn't like it. I cringe at some of the singers voices at times - I guess that is just me because I had my voice trained for many years in opera, I'm sure many people wouldn't like to listen to me.
Sometimes caravan parks have poets - you either like that sort of thing or you don't.
