These days Narrabri is the administrative heart of the second richest agricultural Shire in Australia. Cotton is a major crop, wheat, beef and lamb.
The town is tidy and the people are helpful and friendly.

Nice looking buildings. I like the courthouse's coat of arms, it's very attractive. I like the facade and the windows of the Chinese restaurant. The entry reminds me of a keyhole. There is a house here that has an entry like that to their house.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
That Chinese building does look like a keyhole, you know I didn't notice that!
DeleteTrust me.
Thanks.
I like all the Pictures!Such a lovely and clean Place! It looks hot too!You can give me some of that good weather please?!!Just kidding!
ReplyDeleteWish you a lovely day Margaret!
Thanks Anita. Warm weather will come your way soon, I'm sure :) Our highest temperature today was 12.1 deg C, a tad chilly for us but the sun was out and that was warm.
DeleteEs muy bonito el escudo que hay en la fachada del palacio de justicia.
ReplyDeleteMuy buenas sus fotos.
Besos
Thanks.
DeleteThat Coat of Arms is beautifully done, one of my favourite.
The doctor's surgery looks as if it is in an old 'bank building'. In his youth my partner lived in more than one of them in country towns.
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese restaurant is much newer looking, and quite stylish.
The restaurant does look newish and hopefully have good meals there, we haven't been unfortunately.
DeleteYes that was a bank where the surgery is, at least the building is getting used.
Hello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post with wonderful pictures.
Special to see these kind of offices.
Best regards,
Marco
Thanks Marco.
DeleteIt is nice to see different buildings in different towns, some towns are similar some are not.
Great to see your photographs, I particularly like the coat of arms on the courthouse.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
It is beautiful that Coat of Arms...best I've seen or noticed :)
DeleteAfter its initial 1800s buildings, it seems it had a second boom in the mid 1900s. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteInteresting small country town as most country towns are Andrew.
DeleteThe facade of the Chinese restaurant cracked me up--- The attempt at oriental exotica is not entirely successful, and yet it pleases the eye. Nice place.
ReplyDeleteWell I guess they tried whoever built it and designed it, maybe it was also subject to Council approval as some things are in towns and cities, maybe the Council/Shire wanted it to look more like an English/Australian building rather than a Chinese one - who knows :)
DeleteMuy bonito todo Margaret. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThanks you Teresa.
DeleteSome nice looking buildings
ReplyDeleteThey are rather nice Jo-Anne.
DeleteIt is interesting that the word surgery is used to indicate the doctor's office in many parts of the English-speaking world, whereas here in North America, surgery is reserved for a medical procedure, an operation.
ReplyDeleteHere the word 'surgery' is used for an operation and the Dr.'s surgery, or the Dr.'s rooms. We never say Dr.'s office, well not yet.
DeleteBeautiful place. I loved the church architecture.
ReplyDeleteHugs and take care
It's different Maria.
DeleteBeautiful buildings. I like the entrance to the Chinese restaurant.
ReplyDeleteSomething different is that entrance.
DeleteMe encanta ese escudo del palacio de Justicia Margaret.
ReplyDeleteCuídate.
Un abrazo.
