Toowoomba ByPass

October 2019 on a Sunday we headed south to Millmerran in Queensland via the new Toowoomba ByPass which is a toll road but free when we went along it.
The ByPass is very hilly with steep climbs going south and is 41 km long.
Construction commenced in 2016, opened to traffic early September 2019.
A few photo taken through the ByPass from inside the vehicle.

At the end of the ByPass there is a service centre, so we stopped for some food, lunch and diesel then moved on.

A farm house and paddocks taken from the vehicle moving south.

  4. Wow. I suspect before the bypass went in it was a long and windy road.

    1. The road went through Toowoomba before and was windy and the descent was steep going north on the outskirts.
Was wonderful to be able to drive on the new highway.

  5. Hay que descansar, a las dos horas, cuando se va conduciendo por la carretera. Se recupera fuerzas y a su vez se descansa.

  6. It certainly looks very new. If it is so steep, it must be on the western side of Toowoomba.

    1. Ob our way up we didn't know about the new highway and went the usual way into Toowoomba, it wasn't until we came back that we discovered we were on the new highway - great one too.
