Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Went to the Maroochye River and found this beautiful pelican.

Not far from the Spit is a Marina

Opposite are these buildings

Further on we stopped at the lights so I took the below photo out the window of the vehicle.

  1. I've come across a colony of white Cans south of Tampa...but otherwise we see nothing but brown pelicans. From a distance they look bland, but up close, amazing how much color they don.

    Cheers

  2. Australian Pelican is a wonderful species. I am sure we will encounter it several times later this year.

  4. That is a handsome Pelican - I hadn't realised before just how close their eyes are to their beaks.

  5. You have featured a number of modern seaside apartments in your travels and I do think generally they look quite good. Lots of palm trees help.

  6. It is the pelican which sings to me rather than the apartments. I have never lived in one, and doubt that I will.

  8. The apartments look nice, but so many and so close together, looks like you could almost hop from one balcony to another to go visiting.
The water and pelican are a good photo.

    1. I suppose the apartments were built to get the best view of the sea..

  11. I remember those apartment buildings well. Friends stayed in a front one on holidays. The views were fantastic..........ideal for whale watching with binoculars as they go up and then down the coastline.
I think the road (from memory) up the hill is the road to Buderim. Now that is a place worth visiting on one of your northern winter trips.
