Alva Beach is a little beach side town near Ayr in Queensland. 15 minutes drive and you are there. Tractors are usually used to pull boats out of the water and tow them into. The town has nearly 300 people. There certainly was no one about when we visited that day.
Alva has a longish beach which looks onto the Coral Sea..
Alva on the map is surround by red.
A good place to have a picnic, swim, get some vitamin C...
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it's safe to swim there with the stingers, jellyfish and so on.
DeleteGood place to relax and fish, if you fish.
I meant vitamin D...
ReplyDeleteThought you meant D :) sometimes our fingers slip as D is near the C on they keyboard.
DeleteBlue skies, sunshine and a beautiful beach - lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely sand to walk on, it's not gritty like some sands.
DeleteParadise!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you there John.
DeletePreciosas y sugerentes imagenes, dan ganas de poder pasear por esos lugares, saludos y feliz semana.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was good for walking there, I went for a short one.
Deletewhat a beach! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice one.
DeleteBeautiful landscapes, I love such views and this silence, the perfect place for nice walks.
ReplyDeleteWas very silent, the sea didn't make much noise either.
DeleteNice photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
DeleteJust the right amount of people to enjoy a beach.
ReplyDeleteLove those clouds too.
Thank EC re clouds, nature at it's best at that time.
DeleteIt was extremely quiet there at the beach. There is accommodation there for visitors and a small caravan park so it must get busy at some stage, one would think.
Besos
I should imagine it would get busy at some stage of the year with locals and visitors alike. Being winter when we were there, well to us the weather was fairly good, to locals it would be a bit cool.
DeleteI love those clouds!
ReplyDeleteThey are nice Cynthia, just happened to spy them before I took the photo :)
DeleteIt is wonderful to be able to visit when you have the place all to yourself.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is David, no bumping into to anyone or stepping over bodies on the beach.
DeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with you.
DeleteIt's an interesting narrow peninsula sticking out to sea.
ReplyDeleteIt is Andrew and further up is a National Park but the name of it escapes me at the moment.
DeleteWonderful beach and the sky was amazing.
ReplyDeleteSoft sand that goes through the toes, and agree the sky is amazing.
DeleteI wonder now how it is coping with the monsoons?
ReplyDeleteNow quite like southern beaches due to the Great Barrier Reef
but a pleasant place to swim - BUT just read the signs first.
Crocs, stingers, sharks etc etc are not great swimming companions!
Colin
Wouldn't swim there Colin, too many of those creatures in the sea. I expect close to shore for a paddle would be alright.
DeleteRain up that way the Burdekin area a heap of rain with the river flowing, let's hope it doesn't flood.
What a lovely place
ReplyDeleteLovely sitting there looking out to sea.
DeleteLovely beach and only a short drive away, perfect. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. A nice little town to visit or stay.
DeleteLovely pictures of this beach! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill.

DeleteBeautiful clouds!
ReplyDeleteThey are nice and different as clouds usually are.
DeleteI've never visited Alva Beach (how about that for a change? *smile*)...
ReplyDeleteAn uncle of my now late ex-husband, Randall and his family lived at Midge Point, which is east of Bloomsbury, north of Mackay, and north of Newry Island where I lived at one stage, taking care of the then little resort that was on the island.
Percy (the uncle's name) always used a tractor when he took his boat out to go fishing...and to bring it back in.
Sorry...I didn't mean my response to turn into a novella! :)
It's ok Lee, don't stop as I enjoy reading comments.
DeleteWell that's a first then not having been to Alva Beach and I have, finally I've been somewhere you haven't :)
