Rockhampton is a city with approximately 78,600 people living in it. These days it's an agriculture and industrial centre plus a tourist destination.

The above photo was taken from the vehicle as we drove around the round a bout, it's a large bull.
These flowers were at one of the stores in Rockhampton, Queensland.

Hi Margaret, Rockhampton seems to be a beautiful and peaceful city.
ReplyDeleteI loved the building with the wrought iron is awesome.
A big hug
It is a pleasant city to visit and stay for a week, the main shopping area/street is very long with a shopping complex towards the end of it that is rather large with a smaller one more in the city itself.
DeleteThe buidings are very nice. The bull in the round about is pretty impressive. Our roundabouts, in the ones I see, have sculptures too.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
It's a very tall bull, once you could get a good photo of it but now that the road has changed you can't.
DeleteI bet those sculptures are good in your round a bouts.
También a mí me ha encantado ese hierro forjado, que adorna el edificio.Además dispone de unas buenas terrazas, para poder ver desde allí el paisaje.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Newly renovated was the wrought iron, it really stood out as we drove past, unfortunately couldn't find a parking place to get a better photo of it.
DeleteYour photos so often remind me how much I love our country towns (even if they have grown to be big enough to call themselves a city). Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks EC. The towns well some of them are small then depends on the happenings there they become such larger cities, some towns just fade away.
DeleteGreat post, been years since I have been to Rockhampton
ReplyDeleteHopefully one day you may get there again Jo-Anne.
DeleteA very impressive brick building and I like the Grand Hotel. The wrought iron work is amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wrought iron not seen as much today so pleased this one has been restored or renovated..suits the building.
DeleteBeef cattle country - thus the statue of the bull.
ReplyDeleteThe main stud breed there now is the BRANGUS - Red or Black.
A meat lovers delight.
Those orchids as shown are a special type. I've forgotten their name.
Maybe Lee can assist?
"Rocky" as it is affectionately called by the locals is a very impressive "city".
Colin
The further you go north to some degree the meat/steaks get so much better and bigger.
DeleteRockhampton has much to offer for the tourists...Colin.
Lovely photos in Rockhampton. We stayed there for a few days on our trip last year. I love the beautiful old buildings.
ReplyDeleteThe old building as really nice, the Catholic Church is a gorgeous building but the doors are always locked, never went there to take a photo this time.
DeleteNice photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
