Emu Park, Queensland.

Emu Park near Yeppoon is noted for it's beaches and is a mid coastal town in Queensland.  There is also the singing ship which actually makes sounds. The view from the platform is rather pleasant looking out onto the islands which I'm told great places to spend a holiday.

    1. They are rather pretty those beaches, always good to put ones feet on the sand and at the edge of the water.

    1. lol - haven't seen any Emu's there but by it's name rather says one should see Emu's :)
The singing ship just hums with the wind and appears to play a tune. Sometimes you can hear it, other times not so.

  6. Ahora la playa se ve solitaria. No debe estar en la temporada alta.

Da gusto pasear por allí, con esa belleza ,que se contempla, por todas partes.

    1. The beaches are quiet as it was winter time, summer a few more people but then again might be too hot.

    1. Not one emu, never seen one there.
Apparently the town was called Hewittville and when people started to holiday there the name changed to Emu Park, this could have due to seeing emus there, it's not sure apparently.

  8. Ah Captain James Cook. There's a figure who has generated a lot of controversy since his death in Hawaii.

  9. Looks like from tyre marks that beach buggy lovers have a field/sand day there?
I hope their antics are monitored?

I wonder what Captain Cook did all those years ago to upset a Kanuk???
He was after all one of the greatest navigators of the time.
    Great photos

    1. Could be beach buggies or boats and trailers as that's where the boats go in down that concrete ramp.
Captain Cook was killed by the angry Hawaiians (Captain James Cook's 1779 attempted kidnapping of Kalaniʻōpuʻu, the ruling chief of the island of Hawaii and the decision to hold him in exchange for a stolen long boat (lifeboat) was the fatal error of Cook's final voyage, and ultimately led to his death.

      I'm sure you knew/know this.

    2. Yep - a stupid brain snap.
Lesson to be learnt "don't upset the natives, especially of the Polynesian
      family".

  10. I was greeted, and surprised, by about six emus at the Emu Park Caravan Park years ago! They were waiting for me to exit the ablutions' block I was inspecting before we set up camp!! :)

    1. Oh really. Never seen one there yet. Never heard anyone talking about emu's there, but obviously there were some when you were there even though it was a little while ago :)
