Evening out.

The other Friday evening we went and had dinner at Grindelwald about 20 minutes from home.
There is a restaurant and shops within the area below.
The meal was delicious and there were four cousins and partners, just a nice gathering.
First photo was when we arrived the remainder as we came out of the restaurant.  The time is wrong on the clock.

  7. I had imagined that Grindelwald might have been designed by some Swiss immigrants to remind them of home, but having read about it I see that it was actually developed by a Dutch immigrant who sold his supermarket to Woolworths.

    1. Used to go shopping with my mother in law to the man Rolf Vos's supermarket in the city back in the day until he sold it to Woolworths which used to be Rolf Vos supermarkets until the names was permitted to change to Woolworths which now is one of the main grocers in Australia. He was always a helpful man nice man.

Hope that with your now torrential rain, it is not washed away.
This rain is starting to test the strongest of nerves!

    1. Looks similar to some buildings in Switzerland. He Rolf Vos the Dutchman ( immigrant) had a great vision.
Has rained here all day and apparently last night too. Flood gates have been closed in the city...North West Coast people in a certain area have been told to evacuate.

  10. It looks nice in the photos but we were disappointed when we went there. It was operated by a Dutch family. Bill comes from a town not far from Grindelwald in Switzerland and this place is nothing like the real thing. But I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves with family.

    1. OK. I know Rolf Vos when he had it designed just said, modelled on Swiss Village....I recall you told me it was not at all like Grindelwald in Switzerland. It's a lovely area and certainly very different to what our normal houses are like...
