Along the Tamar

A drive the other day down to the Tamar River here in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.  It was a beautiful Spring Day and the water was calm.
There is a Hotel in a place called Rosevears over looking the Tamar River excellent meals I believe and many people gather to eat there.  Picnic tables across from the Hotel and you can catch a ferry and go for a little ride on the river.
Many years ago my husband and myself along with another couple water skied in this area. In those days I didn't have a camera!

  5. Tamar river is certainly a beauty. I used to frequent Launceston a lot mainly for contractor work in LGH and local calvary private. To be honest, the only incentive of being there is really accessing the natural beauty there lol

I haven't looked here for a long time, and here are so many beautiful photos. It's nice to watch and admire these wonderful views.
    Have a nice week.
It is still raining in my place, hence I take less walks, I am waiting for a colorful autumn, which will be at my place in two three weeks.

  17. Lovely scenery. I love a ferry ride. Lovely reflections in the water. I know another Tamer Ferry in the UK Margaret. I used to take that ferry regularly as I lived down that way for many years.

    1. I expect our Tamar River could have been named after the one in the UK. We don't have a regular ferry service across the river but in Launceston there is a cruise ship (small) that will take you for a ride up the Tamar River.

  23. Water skiing eh? How I loved that sport as a young buck in my PNG dqys
at Finschhafen. Even got to the bare foot stage!
Major problem was the very dangerous sea snakes - beautifully coloured
but deadly if they got you.
    Cheers

    1. Yes, water skiing on the Tamar River.
That would be half the fun seeing that you didn't get bitten by a deadly snake.

  24. Love the reflection of the trees on the riverbank in the water! I don't know why I missed your post on the reading list again. The rain is pouring now. Everywhere I drive through has river choking the drainage systems

Probably Blogger playing up, just a thought anyway you came :) and commented, thank you.
Trying to rain here, just a few spits so far. Drive Safely in the rain and hopefully the drains won't become too burdened with the rain.
