Down in the Bush

Often we go for a drive into the bush just to see what is there or go a different way to some place, often we have to turn around and come back because we come across a gate that is locked in that bush.
The roads are often logging roads which means trucks go into or have been in the past to collect logs and taken them to be chipped at a mill somewhere within this State of Tasmania, Australia.  Wood chipping isn't a big thing these days and usually the logs are from trees planted some years ago.
The photos below are from one of our trips into the bush...
The first photo is of 'Man Ferns', (Dicksonia Antarctica).
The last photo some pretty foxgloves (Digitalis)

    1. Thanks Maria. It is a good area for walking, just have to watch for snakes as all our snakes are poisonous.

    1. New foliage will look wonderful Rosemary. Our next door neighbour has several growing in their garden and a few up their side fence that we look at each day.

  8. The ferns look fantastic. You are right that there are always places that require a new visit to explore further. Digitalis looks great there. I thought they were fox gloves

  9. Beautiful ferns. While my state has some really nice forests full of ferns, I am sure your state does even better.

    1. They are a very pretty flower and seeing as we don't see them in people's garden's anymore they are more appealing when we came across them.
