Often we go for a drive into the bush just to see what is there or go a different way to some place, often we have to turn around and come back because we come across a gate that is locked in that bush.
The roads are often logging roads which means trucks go into or have been in the past to collect logs and taken them to be chipped at a mill somewhere within this State of Tasmania, Australia. Wood chipping isn't a big thing these days and usually the logs are from trees planted some years ago.
The photos below are from one of our trips into the bush...
The first photo is of 'Man Ferns', (Dicksonia Antarctica).
The last photo some pretty foxgloves (Digitalis)
The first one reminds me of Gilligan's Island!
ReplyDeleteAh! The TV show, did used to watch an episode or two of that show.

DeleteMargaret, indiscriminate felling of trees is allowed in that area?
ReplyDeleteNo it's not permitted these days, once yes, certainly not now and hasn't been permitted for awhile now only from plantations these days.
DeleteNature is fantastic, it is certainly very pleasant to walk around and enjoy everything.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.
Thanks Maria. It is a good area for walking, just have to watch for snakes as all our snakes are poisonous.
DeleteSe ve tan precioso. Las dedaleras me encantan, también hay muchas por aquí. Un abrazo Margaret.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are a beautiful flower but you can't by the seed here.
DeleteBeautiful. Logging always makes me sad, particularly when it is native growth.
ReplyDeleteSame here EC, but logging now the tree plantations which is not so bad.
DeleteWe have just cut all of our ferns right back this week, but will look forward to watching them sprouting forth once again next spring.
ReplyDeleteNew foliage will look wonderful Rosemary. Our next door neighbour has several growing in their garden and a few up their side fence that we look at each day.
DeleteThe foxgloves are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are Bill. They are considered a environmental weed here.
DeleteOh so lovely
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne
DeleteThe ferns look fantastic. You are right that there are always places that require a new visit to explore further. Digitalis looks great there. I thought they were fox gloves
ReplyDeleteDigitalis pupurea, Foxgloves....both the same thing. I expected they have been removed by now seeing as they are classed as a environmental weed here.
DeleteBeautiful ferns. While my state has some really nice forests full of ferns, I am sure your state does even better.
ReplyDeleteMaybe our State do manferns better as we have the Tarkine and other wilderness areas.
DeleteSo pretty and pretty adventurous too.
ReplyDeleteThat's true about being adventurous, no phone signals or signs either, that doesn't help but we always get back safely.
DeleteI love foxgloves...they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThey are a very pretty flower and seeing as we don't see them in people's garden's anymore they are more appealing when we came across them.
DeleteYou don't find foxgloves in my corner of the world. How beautiful! 🧡🧡🧡
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, Margaret.
Thank you. We shouldn't find them here either, you can't buy the seed.
DeleteIt is wonderful to walk in nature.
ReplyDeleteThe photograph of the foxglove is fantastic.
Greetings Irma
They are a beautiful flower Irma but n one can grow them for they are classed as a environmental weed down here...was surprised to see that patch.
DeleteAh--- you have foxgloves too! I'm glad. They're wonderful, so long as you don't eat them......
ReplyDeleteThey are a classed as a environmental weed here, and yes as long as you don't eat them :)
DeleteThat woukd be my kind of place to go for a walk.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it would David, plenty of birds about.
DeleteМаргарет, приветствую Вас! Красивые фото - папоротники такие большие! Наперстянка растёт и в наших садах, красиво!
ReplyDeleteYes the ferns are very large been growing for a long time I expect. We can't buy the seeds for the foxglove. It's classed as a weed here.
DeleteNature and scenery look perfect. It is a really good area for walking. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLovely, peaceful there for a long walk.
DeleteGostei de ver estas belas fotografias.

ReplyDeleteNature at its best! I would enjoy walking here, but I would fear an encounter with snakes.
ReplyDeleteI love nature, and everything is pure eloquent, cheers Margaret.
ReplyDeleteMe encantan estos paseos. La digitalis purpurea o dedalera está preciosa, por aquí sale en verano.
ReplyDeleteBuen domingo Margaret.
Un abrazo.
