Deloraine

Deloraine is a town on the banks of the Meander River 50km west of Launceston, Tasmania Australia.
I used to work at the old hospital then the new one for a few years being in charge of both many times, now that Hospital is a Community Centre.
Deloraine is the town for the rural community in the area, it's clean and inviting.
These photos are but a few of the river from my archives.

  1. I'm never tired of rivers and bridges. Lucky people those of Deloraine to live on the banks of Meander River!

  2. I suppose you know that Australia is very little known in the world, the same happens with Argentina. This is why I am interested in reading your posts. I have been a teacher and despite this little is known about distant Australia. I do know that back in the 70s many Argentines emigrated there. Being at the same latitude, the climate is very similar.
Australia makes me curious, maybe one day I'll be there.
    Greetings Margaret

  6. We are still in lockdown here. It's been eight months that we have not been able to leave our neighbourhood. Just the simple things like walking in a park, visiting the beach or taking a boat road seem like dreams right now.

  11. A woman we met and had dinner with in Tasmania is leaving to move to NSW to be nearer to her children and grandchildren, but she is sad to be leaving the state. With good reason, I say!

    1. Oh I can imagine everyone on lockdown would miss the wide open spaces even if it's just a small park..
