At Mildura, Victoria

Hoping you will enjoy a journey inland in the State of Victoria to inland New South Wales, Australia. I think this was our 3rd or 4th trip at that time in the car staying at Motels along the way and eating our meals at restaurants. These early years of travelling we didn't take our caravan..

Showing photos of Swan Hill on the Victorian and New South Wales border from 2003, yes a long time ago.  This is inland about 9 hours from Sydney.

Didn't take many photos with my digital camera because the 'cards' back then didn't hold a lot of photos.  There were not many places to take the cards to either to have the photos put on a Disc CD or DVD but not sure if DVD's were about then. Sometimes the places we went to didn't know what I was talking about.  In those days I didn't have a laptop either. To access email we had to go to an Internet Cafe whilst travelling.

Mildura is on the border of Victoria and New South Wales inland. There is a population of about 33,444 people.  There are river cruises on steam boats to be had.

The Church is St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Last two photos. The bridge at a place called Swan Hill not too far from Mildura, south east to be exact and it also situated on the border of Victoria and Swan Hill. 2 hours and 30 minutes drive.

I haven't shown these photos before, maybe the bridge, the last photo once, a long time ago.

  3. Margaret, it has been a long time on my mind to travel to Australia at some point.
To those who want to know that continent, what places would you recommend?

    1. It depends if you or anyone wishes to stay in and around cities or go to the outback. Both can be done but only one area as the distance between towns, cities is a very long way. Where I live takes along time to see most of it all, bit you can also have a rushed trip. It must be remembered that Australia is about as big as America.
Ayers Rock is amazing about in the middle and even lovelier at sunset..

    1. Church would have been built in the early 1900's I presume by its outer design.

  8. The river was very low and it is a handsome bridge. Funny to think what a camera card held back then compared to phones now.

    1. Low tide more likely lack of water in the :) river, drought I guess. Oh yes it's interesting how technology has changed over the years, so easier these days.
