A few Photos

Stanley is a good place to eat Lobsters, Crayfish and many other types of fish and this is the place to go.
Up stairs in the Hursey building down by wharf.  We went up stairs via the lift and waited for fish and chips which were tasty.  The table is Huon Pine a soft wood and easy to work with so I'm told. My dad made chairs when he and mum were first married of Huon Pine.

The other photos are of the Nut from two different angles, the last photo is of a man who brought his chair, placed it on the footpath and watch the sunset :) outside the caravan park, he did no harm and wasn't in any ones way.

    1. Bill, it's Tasmania, Australia :)...the header photo I took a couple of days ago when we went for a drive - not a sunset photo but late in the afternoon over looking the Tamar River in George Town about 1 hour away. Thank you.

    1. Sunsets and sunrise as always nice, not often up for sunrise especially this time of year being winter here. The header photo is not of the sunset but late in the afternoon.

  8. We didn't see the The Nut from that angle, so thanks. I hope the sunset was nice for the man.

    1. The photo was taken back up the back of Stanley, good road up that way. Yes, that man was there most evenings weather permitting to view the sunset. I just looked out the caravan window to see what it was like.

  11. It looks like a nice, bright restaurant for a meal, and I have been craving fish and chips for quite a while now :) Hubby surprised me with cooking two lobster tails for Mother’s Day. It was a nice treat. The Huon Pine is a very nice looking wood. My Dad’s hobby was woodwork and he also made my Mum a few pieces. Your Mum must have loved those from your Dad. Beautiful scenery! I would have willingly pulled a chair out to look at that view. Thank you Margaret and enjoy the rest of your week.

    1. Lovely view from that restaurant if next to the windows, looks out all over the sea.
Interesting your husbands hobby was woodwork, eldest son used to make many things in different kinds of wood when he was a teenager and sell them.
Lucky you on Mother's Day :)

  13. Маргарет, я пишу вам из Аргентины, и мне очень понравились ваши изображения, особенно человек, сидящий в своем кресле и смотрящий на горизонт. Я живу на берегу Атлантического океана и много раз наблюдаю за морем, сидя таким образом.

  14. The views are indeed lovely, Margaret, and I wondered if you knew the person in the last photo. The table is unusual and really shows the wood in wonderful detail and is a good example of repurposing.

    1. Didn't know the man in the last photo but he did have a cheeky smile when he put that chair on the pathway :) That wood is easy to work with and is also a soft wood Beatrice.

    1. Love good fish and chips, sadly they are far and between these days seeing as most of the Greeks don't do it anymore. Down here they the Greeks were marvellous with their fish and chips, they were to die for. In those days also remember the chips being in newspaper Lee?
