First photo is the mouth of the Arthur River Tasmania Australia, looking towards the Southern Ocean.
The next lot of photos is the terrain on the way back to the caravan park - such wilderness and lonesome road.
The Arthur River. There is a bridge which isn't very wide but wide enough, no footpath so I had to be careful that no traffic was coming - Murphy's Law one did come. The little hut or shelter is a rest area by the river for the traveller to get out and walk around if they wish and there are picnic tables within as well. Sword ferns in the photo above which readily grow on the side of the road and in the bush. You are not permitted to take these ferns.
Nice river view in the first photo. I like that they have a place and a table for travelers who wished to stop for rest or a picnic. Very nice and quiet.
ReplyDeleteWe forgot that that shelter was there when driving past, so husband reversed the vehicle so I could get out and take photos.
DeleteAustralia is such a beautiful country. Love the river view and would be really nice to have a picnic there :-))
ReplyDeleteLovely and sheltered and pretty there.
DeleteThe river view is beautiful to see.
ReplyDeleteBe good when the rain water flowed down there.
DeleteThat is one of the most picturesque rest stops I have seen. They are often just pull offs on the highway here - albeit pull offs with picnic tables and sometimes very welcome facilities.
ReplyDeleteYes I'm familiar with pull offs many of them on the mainland in certain areas. We have a few pretty ones here on the Island.
DeleteThe river level seems a bit on the low side. It's a great little picnic hut.
ReplyDeleteWas thinking it would be better when the rain water flows down the river but then the water would cover the rocks I guess.
DeleteNice for a picnic there and listen to nature.
Lovely photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeletePhotos 1 and 2 just show how desolate that southern part of Tassie is.
ReplyDeleteI guess the winds (roaring forties) are the reason for the area being treeless.
Good report and photos as always.
Cheers
Colin
Colin it's the north west coast, on the map you will see Temma, it's inland on that highway.
DeleteCan be very windy at the Great Southern Ocean. I can remember that once it was the Indian Ocean then became the Great Southern Ocean, maps of today say a little different.
Hermoso rio, me gusto mucho conocer. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteMuy bellas imagenes, amiga... Unos paisajes de gran belleza
ReplyDeleteThanks - a lovely Australian area.
DeleteDesolate in one spot, but with ferns and trees galore in another spot. The rest stop looks like it's built for rainy weather. Another enjoyable post.
ReplyDeleteI believe it does rain a fair bit in that area.
DeleteTasmania, Australia is rather diverse.
Thanks.
It sure is a wild part of Tassie.
ReplyDeleteIt is, the wild, wild west :)
DeleteThat is a lovely river in a very attractive spot - glad that you were able to get out of the car and capture the pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good drive all around that area Rosemary and several stops are very welcome to stretch ones legs.

DeleteРека Артур. Живописно! Как на картине художника! Чудесные фотографии!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty and would look good painted.
DeleteProbably a welcome stop for a weary traveller to refresh before carrying on his/her way.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, one gets tired of going around corners sometimes so it's a welcome stop there.
DeleteUnos paisajes llenos de vida, a pesar de su soledad.
ReplyDeleteLa vegetación es fabulosa y con un excelente verdor.
