Marrawah is on the North West Coast of Tasmania, Australia with a small population.
At Green Point where these photos were taken there are lot of Aboriginal Rocks with carvings scattered all over the area if one wants to go exploring to find them. Camping is permitted at Green Point well back from the beach which is excellent for surfing, the sea is the Southern Ocean. There appears to be no land until you reach Argentina.
Nobody on the beach!
ReplyDelete11 000 km of sea... from Marrawah to Argentina! : ))
Gosh a big distance with only sea - my that is a long way.
DeleteWe never have many people at our beaches, we have many beaches but people just don't seem to lay on the sand these days.
The beach looks nice and refreshing, I would like camping there.
ReplyDeleteCan imagine sleeping there with the roar of the sea. We have never camped there and probably won't as it can be very windy in that area.
DeleteIt could be interesting to see those Aboriginal carved rocks. We have a somehow similar word Maarawah, meaning to the west, in hebrew.
ReplyDeleteI like the photo with the people , the dog, and the picnic table.
Well to the west it is then because Marrawah is in our west :)
DeleteWhen we went there a few years ago there were a couple there at the table eating, a good view.
Have never seen the carvings and I would think to find them one would have to walk some distance.
What a nice beach-- Really the whole area looks like a great place to spend some time.
ReplyDeleteWindy there, but wasn't the day we were there.
DeleteHave never spent much time in that area for there isn't a great deal there to see.
How very, very beautiful. And it has the perfect number of people in view too.
ReplyDeleteIt's just wonderful standing there and not seeing or hearing anyone. The sea roars and a wind farm can be seen in the distance.
DeleteThe beach looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely there Angie.
DeleteDear friend! Beach looks perfect. But nobody seems around.
ReplyDeleteThere is never many people at our beaches as we have so many of them.
DeleteBoa tarde minha querida amiga. Obrigado pelas lindas e maravilhosas imagens.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteSe ve un lugar muy tranquilo en donde poder relajarte. Se ve un lugar agradable, muy apropiado para pasar las vacaciones.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Very quiet there, have never stayed in that area though.
DeleteQue praia maravilhosa de uma cor agradável, deve ser bom mesmo acampar por lá! bj
ReplyDeleteIt is a rather nice beach there and a longish one.
DeleteThe small camping area is somewhat sheltered but it's a windy area.
Such lovely photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteThe aboriginal rocks with their carvings must be a poignant reminder of the fate of those people.
ReplyDeleteFor sure David. There are several names in that area which are in the process of being altered and if not changed totally as it's not a good reminder to the aboriginal people. I've never seen any of these drawings or carvings in the area.
DeleteLovely beaches, always lovely in winter too. It's probably good that the aboriginal carvings are a long walk away as quite often they get damaged by disrespectful tourists which is very disappointing.
DeleteBello lugar, me gusto mucho esa playa te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank You.
DeleteIt is a good beach but each time we've been there not many people.
Beautiful beach. Very peaceful. A great place for camping and getaway from the city.
ReplyDeleteExtremely peaceful there Nancy.
DeleteFrom this beautiful photo I imagine camping at Green Point while looking at the magnitude of the South Ocean ocean waves .... it must be nice to be there.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Thank you.
DeleteA beautiful wild place. Our daughter,Carol and Son in law, David are on holidays in Tassie. They are in Strahan at the moment. They send fabulous pics of your home state.
ReplyDeleteHope they are keeping warm then. Quaint at Strahan Diane. The roar of Ocean Beach is good as I recall sleeping in Strahan as a child on holiday there.
DeleteUma maravilha, gostei.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.
