Bundaberg, Queensland

Bundaberg Queensland is a city some 385 km above Brisbane Australia. It is inland about 16kms from the Coral Sea and situated on the Burnett River.
The urban population is well over 70,000 people.
The city is the business centre for a major sugar cane growing area, and is well know for it's namesake export, Bundaberg Rum.

We visited the city a few times whilst staying in Bundaberg but took these photos on a Sunday of part of the city. We did buy some clothes whilst there as many of the shops were open back in winter 2019.

  2. It looks lovely - and hooray for Bundie Rum. As a child when we were camping my father always added some to his billy-tea (to keep out the cold).

    1. Lol, I reckon a lot of people did that to their billy-tea back then, and probably even some people today :)
It's a nice city in my eyes EC.

  4. Lo que más me ha llamado la atención, es la torre del reloj y ese puente de hierro que tan fotográfico es.

    1. The clock tower and building is lovely to see as you walk up the street.
Bridge is different to many others and good to drive over.

  5. Bundaberg Rum Distillery might be the perfect place to hold up at present! :)

Have you visited Mon Repos at any time? I imagine you have.

    Take good care, Margaret. :)

    1. Not a bad place to be for sure in the Distillery at the moment.
No haven't been to where those turtles are but have seen heaps of turtles in the evening time at Cardwell down on the jetty.

    1. It's probably the post office and town hall combined, as all photos on the internet seem to indicate that.
Great bridge in 'green' looks rather awesome and good to drive over too.

  8. Great photos of the city. We drove through last year and went to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery but didn't do the tour, just had a look around the Gift Shop. We were disappointed that we couldn't just buy a bottle as they had packages which were in the $hundreds and not in our price range, but they had nice sauces and other goodies which we bought for family and ourselves. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Oh ok. So many tourist places just do that sometimes.
Did the tour some years ago when the Tour/shop was in a big barrel.

  11. "Bundaberg" caught my eye on the side bar of Lee's blog. Love your photos, especially the distillery - my brother lives just down the road so it is a comforting, familiar sight right now. Mind you, if I had a drop or two of Bundy rum, that might be comforting, too.

Be good to have some rum, think I have some in the cupboard :) been there a while as I/we are not drinkers, just a touch once in awhile.
