Caboonbah, Queensland

I'd like to thank everyone who passes my way in blogland, also for those who post on blogspot.
It's a way of knowing that you all are alright in these troubled times.
Take care, be safe and stay well.

From the Sunshine Coast we headed south west to Esk for a few nights which ended up being for a few more nights as it was a long weekend and we got the last spot at Esk caravan park due to a cancellation.

On our way to Esk we had a stop, a rest at Caboonbah in a special recreational area on a corner with a fence and a gate which was open for several hours per day.
This area is called O'Sheas crossing and was once open all the time but not these days.
The river was very low, there was a table and chairs plus loos (toilets), and a barbecue.
Population of 14 scattered here and there.

Photos of O'Sheas Crossing and the rest area.  It's so very dry and the river level is low.

  1. It looks so calm and sweet. The camper reminds me of my grandparents. Every winter they would take their camper like that and travel from Michigan to the warmer climates of Florida and Texas. I miss them!

    1. :) You have fond memories of them.
Well that is what a lot of Australians do, go north to warmer pastures with out caravan or motor homes for the winter.

  2. Looks like a nice area but it's sad that the water level is so low. Hope it doesn't dry up. Enjoy the new week and stay safe!

    1. Thanks Noke. I'm sure the river is flowing more now. I can only imagine how it would look if green.

  5. Hopefully the river has good flows now. I was a bit confused when you mentioned Esk. Where are we? Queensland or Tasmania?

    1. Queensland Andrew. Esk here in Tasmania is known as Upper Esk or South Esk as far as I can recall.
I expect the river flows now in Queensland.

    1. Very low river Lee at that time.
Thanks Lee, yes we have been to many places in Australia and there are plenty more to visit if we ever get the opportunity to do so in the future we well.
Travelling to other parts of Australia each winter for about 18 or 19 winters and not always going to the same place helps to see more.
