The urban population is well over 70,000 people.
The city is the business centre for a major sugar cane growing area, and is well know for it's namesake export, Bundaberg Rum.
We visited the city a few times whilst staying in Bundaberg but took these photos on a Sunday of part of the city. We did buy some clothes whilst there as many of the shops were open back in winter 2019.
The Burnett River bridge.
Looks like a lovely place to visit. Beautiful photos, stay !safe
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill.
DeleteIt looks lovely - and hooray for Bundie Rum. As a child when we were camping my father always added some to his billy-tea (to keep out the cold).
ReplyDeleteLol, I reckon a lot of people did that to their billy-tea back then, and probably even some people today :)
DeleteIt's a nice city in my eyes EC.
It's nice! Looks serene.
ReplyDeleteI like it too Sandi.
DeleteThat's more than a lifetime supply of rum!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, indeed.
DeleteLo que más me ha llamado la atención, es la torre del reloj y ese puente de hierro que tan fotográfico es.
ReplyDeleteBesos
The clock tower and building is lovely to see as you walk up the street.
DeleteBridge is different to many others and good to drive over.
Bundaberg Rum Distillery might be the perfect place to hold up at present! :)
ReplyDeleteHave you visited Mon Repos at any time? I imagine you have.
Take good care, Margaret. :)
Not a bad place to be for sure in the Distillery at the moment.
DeleteNo haven't been to where those turtles are but have seen heaps of turtles in the evening time at Cardwell down on the jetty.
Impressive town hall or post office. What a wonderful bridge.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably the post office and town hall combined, as all photos on the internet seem to indicate that.
DeleteGreat bridge in 'green' looks rather awesome and good to drive over too.
I haven't been to Bundaberg in ages
ReplyDeleteWould like to go again myself but don't suppose that will eventuate.
DeleteThanks Agnieszka.
ReplyDeleteUnos trabajos magnificos, amiga
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI would like a giant bottle!
ReplyDeleteMost that like Rum would I reckon.
DeleteGreat photos of the city. We drove through last year and went to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery but didn't do the tour, just had a look around the Gift Shop. We were disappointed that we couldn't just buy a bottle as they had packages which were in the $hundreds and not in our price range, but they had nice sauces and other goodies which we bought for family and ourselves. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh ok. So many tourist places just do that sometimes.
DeleteDid the tour some years ago when the Tour/shop was in a big barrel.
Looks like a very pleasant city, well worth a visit.
ReplyDeleteCertainly was worth another visit, would like to visit again but that probably won't happen.
DeletePrecioso domingo. Me encanta la primera foto y los puentes los adoro amiga.
ReplyDeleteCuídate Margaret.
Desde casa te mando este abrazo 🙅
Thanks Laura.
Delete"Bundaberg" caught my eye on the side bar of Lee's blog. Love your photos, especially the distillery - my brother lives just down the road so it is a comforting, familiar sight right now. Mind you, if I had a drop or two of Bundy rum, that might be comforting, too.
ReplyDeleteAmazing what catches our eyes sometimes. Good of you to visit and leave a comment.
DeleteBe good to have some rum, think I have some in the cupboard :) been there a while as I/we are not drinkers, just a touch once in awhile.
During this trying times, many things help.
Fantastic city, beautiful setting. Gin is wonderful, sipping it everything.
ReplyDeleteIt's pleasant city. Rum is ok to sip too.
DeleteOlá querida Margaret.
ReplyDeleteQue lindas fotografias.
Uma Santa Páscoa.
Um beijinho florido.
