On the way to Blayney, NSW

The caravan park at Gundagai, NSW.  Photo of part of the caravan park, you can see the caravans park undercover and have an ensuite.
The day we left it was a foggy morning, we went through the towns of Young and Cowra on the way to Blayney where we stopped for a couple of nights.
From Gundagai to Blayney is 240klm.
Photos are of scenery when we stopped along the way for a rest.

  1. Still looks fairly green there, although I would imagine it felt the effects of the drought. I hope they escaped the fires.

    1. Probably wouldn't be as green now and they are not in the fire area as yet, let's hope they won't be.

    1. Never seen a caravan park like that one, it frost there so it's good to be out of the frost if one were to happen in winter, also helpful to keep the hot sun off in summer.

  6. Oh my God - good old Blayney. When the southerlys blow down that valley where Blayney is, it is without doubt one of the horrible experiences you can have.
It has a bitterness that usually would be found near the winds just off the south Pole..............Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Summers can be the complete opposite.....I dunno whether it has anything to do with being in that gully region.
For those who read comments (????) - Blayney is fire free but has been known for bushfires in past years. Again for people who carefully look at your excellent vista photos, you will not that scrublands have been removed.
The Cowra shire is to be commended.
Did you go and have a look at the WW2 P.O.W camp and the Japanese gardens now there? Quite a wonderful tourist attraction.
    Cheers

    1. It was Andrew, several times we had to slow right down and at one point we thought about stopping unfortunately nowhere to stop off the side of the road.

  9. Love your photos. We were in Blayney many years ago when there was snow and ice on the ground, something we weren't expecting on that trip. More recently we visited the Japanese Gardens at Cowra and they were beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
