It's believed to be the largest cork tree in Australia, there is a large cork tree in Melbourne Australia.
Underneath the cork tree were there 3 ponies - cute little things, they seemed to be asleep.
This is the entrance to the Caravan Park we stayed in in Tenterfield.
Nothing beats heritage trees or cute ponies (except maybe puppies)
ReplyDeleteAnd kittens, anything young is usually cute.
DeleteSo cute
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteGrandes alcornoques que aseguran la producción de corcho. En España también tenemos producción de corcho en unas buenas zonas de acornocales.
ReplyDeleteMe han encantado los ponis.
Besos
I don't think we have cork plantations as such, no one touched that cork tree as yet...the ponies are cute.
DeleteWhat a fabulous tree, and three cute ponies :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Didn't know the tree was there, just happened to come across it.
DeleteAlways I love horses, especially nice ones.
Shetland ponies under the tree????????
ReplyDeleteMaybe for pony rides but Shetlands are mean little bastards - they
will bite (not nip) at the drop of a hat and it hurts - I can attest to that.
No quarantine laws way back then. Also none in 1912 when some stupid bureaucrat from the British Colonial Office decided to introduce those damn, murderous Indian Mynah birds to Western Australia to eat grubs on the wheat. What a catastrophic result that had and continues to have.
Cork trees certainly are very shady. Any others in the paddocks for the livestock to rest under in the summer???
Another interesting report, Margaret.
Colin
Thanks Colin.
DeletePonies, late father in law had a few, cut things no nipping from them other than at ones clothes.
Certainly had some insects and animals brought to Australia even in our quarantine days that have not been received well!
I've really enjoyed visiting Tenterfield with you...I've not been at all tentative!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. :)
Thanks Lee. It's a rather lovely little town with friendly people.
DeleteGood morning.
ReplyDeleteIt is currently morning of Japan time 14th.
Christmas As "Chapproached, the town became gorgeous".
Christmas song flows, and a roadside tree is displayed with gorgeous neon.
I am excited just to walk the town. "
Ryoma.
Thanks.
DeleteCute ponies. I've never seen a cork tree. The spread is huge, and such interesting bark.
ReplyDeleteNeither had we seen a cork tree till that day.
DeleteThat's a beautiful tree. I'd like to have a tree that size in my front yard to shade the house. I'm guessing several neighbours would complain though.
ReplyDeleteWE also wanted a shade tree but never got around to growing one, we do have a place to put it.
DeleteI guess your neighbours might.
What a tree, it is beautiful, and, the Pony, superb.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent specimen of the cork tree. Love the ponies.
Deletesuch a fabulous tree and 3 ponies look so cutes.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
Rather a large tree and those ponies were ever so cute and quiet too.
DeleteGorgeous Tree! Never heard of it before! So cool!
ReplyDeleteOh ok.
DeleteCorks are used for many things eg. corks in some wine bottles.
Oh my... the tree is humongous!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is.
