Last year we stayed there on the way north, this year we didn't but stayed there for a few nights on the way back.
Last year at Euroa and another post at Euroa
We stopped for a rest as we hadn't had one since leaving Melbourne, so out came the camera and I took a couple of photos which are not the same as the year before.
Date palms above.
Below the creek called Seven Creeks.
Major Mitchell camped on the banks of the Seven Creeks at Euroa in 1836. The Major was an explorer.
That's the way to the main shopping centre and that is a grocery shop on the right where I bought a pretty scarf on the way home. The grocery shop is a lovely one, and there is a hardware shop and a clothing shop all under one roof owned by the grandson of the original owner. A nice man as he knew we were not local and made us welcome in his shop.
I like the scarf!
ReplyDeleteA nice place to visit, I am assuming.
'Tis a lovely place to visit with a lot of history.
DeleteThanks re scarf.
You chose a lovely scarf - love the butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's not often I see a scarf that jumps at me :)

Besos
It is a pretty place - scarf is nice with those butterflies on it..different.
DeleteLooks like a great spot to bide a while, Margaret. I was interested to read of Major Mitchell. You are probably aware that there is a bird called Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo, doubtless named after him.
ReplyDeleteYes, those parrots are named after Major Mitchell who was a surveyor and explorer of south eastern Australia in the 1800. There is also a road/highway called the Mitchell Highway also name after him.
DeleteWe drove from Euroa to the ship.
the scarf is pretty, and that tree is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you..
DeleteIt all looks surprisingly green. Maybe not now.
ReplyDeleteIt was green on our way back Andrew, there had been rain before we arrived, that was early last week.

Seven Creeks is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLong tale is seven creeks..I looked it up on the net before I mentioned it..
DeleteThe last photo with the gum - looks like this Euroa is subjected to some pretty strong winds during the year.
ReplyDeleteColin
Could well be Colin with the wind, it's not a sheltered place. It can also flood there.
DeleteI love that last tree!
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice tree, one could give a hug to.
DeleteThat is very nice. that is a great spot
ReplyDeleteMuch history to the town, the buildings are nice and all is kept tidy.
DeleteHey there, Margaret...even though your travels must have been thoroughly enjoyable...I bet it's nice to be back home.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. :0
Thanks Lee. Yes nice to be home..always great to go away but good when home.
DeleteNice photos and isn't it nice when a total stranger makes you feel welcome in his store? I love that last tree with all the branches leaning left.
ReplyDeleteThanks River.
DeleteOh yes that man did make us so welcome. Told tv he history of the shop and more, we listened, so we learnt.
Natural and beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob.
DeleteIt is good to bring back a lovely souvenir such as your scarf from trips - it reinforces your memories of that time and the location at which it was bought.
ReplyDeleteIt does Rosemary. Often buy jewellery at a jewellery shop in cities and town but after several years I've forgotten where I bought what :)
DeleteEnjoyed
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a hoppae Fridae
Yes thanks.
DeleteYou'll be surprised to learn - well maybe, that a promotion of the products of the Tamar Valley is being held here in the forecourt of the huge Erina Fair Mall Complex.
ReplyDeleteYesterday when I spotted the caravan, I thought well maybe there is a Tamar Valley here in this mid-coast region, there is a village after all called WYOMING!
Anyhow it is your true Tassie one.
Presently they are promoting your fine Tamar Yogurt.
Cheers
Colin
Really, then I can believe that, many places we went found Tasmanian produce for sale but don't see it at home..
