After Sofala NSW we headed north through Growee where the cattle we on the 'long paddock' then over the bridge in Denman NSW through Muswellbrook but not into the town.
This is some of the scenery on the way.
You sure do get to see some magnificent country. I think that the next time you embark on one of these extended road trips you should go across the southern part of the continent so that we all see those regions too!
Another road down memory lane. Denman was where I initially learnt to ride a horse or actually got onto a horse at the ripe old age of 2. The war had just finished and Dad had returned home from New Guinea and was trying to convince my mother to go to Japan with the occupation forces! That fell on deaf ears with Mum - no way hosa! Strange that later in retirement Japan was a favourite holiday destination for the two of them! It is good to learn today that this area is getting a drenching. Those Aberdeen Angus cattle would be in 7th heaven. The bull is the front would be one I reckon to give a wide berth to. I hope to be going up that way very soon to visit friends...a truly lovely part of Australia. Cheers Colin
Fabulous photographs, and the sky is so wonderfully blue, which makes such a pleasant change from the grey sky and rain we are having at the moment here in the UK.
Me ha gustado mucho el ganado pastando y la toma del puente.

The cattle getting a good feed and those type of bridges are different.
DeleteDriving on deserted roads.... and having no skyscrapers obstructing the magnificent view! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely no skyscrapers where we went, even to the east.

ReplyDeleteA good idea trouble is it's cold in the south and we seek the north for winter warmth. Next year I don't know if we are going.
Deleteaw, more mountain shots. This Florida flatlander love those mountain shots!!
ReplyDeleteOh do you - well the sea and mountains are always good to see.

First time for us going through that way, the road was good and scenery was lovely.
DeleteNice memories - but do you remember riding a horse at 2!
Sure do and have a photo to prove it. A little, excited pimple on a rather large stock horse and bare back to boot!
DeleteColin - the cowboy kid!! ha ha
Wonderful to have a photo on the horse then..
DeleteBeautiful photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteThe cattle look nice and fat. I like those iron bridges that are found in NSW.
ReplyDeleteThe cattle looked good.
DeleteThose bridges are different though we have one down south which is going to be replaced.
It was a fascinating journey
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting.
DeleteReally lovely scenery out that way. Love the black cattle.
ReplyDeleteThe cattle looked ever so lovely with the shiny coats.
DeleteThe colors, especially the greens, are always surprising. I wonder if I'd get used to driving on "the other side"... Great pictures, as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI have often wondered that question myself if over your way - one would have to be thinking all the time not to wander to the wrong side.
The mountains are one of out mind, they are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes lovely mountains and not always seen in Australia because so much of the road is just flat.
DeleteNice photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
DeleteLooks as if you had an interesting journey with those rugged hills, and the golden pastures filled with cattle.
ReplyDeleteMakes a change of scenery being able to see those hills, mountains and cattle for often we just see 'flat' areas for ever it seems.

ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Usually in winter up north there the skies are ever so blue with not a cloud in the sky..
DeleteWell hope your sky clears to blue soon.
Great scenery.
ReplyDeleteYes it is lovely John.
DeleteYou certainly are a traveller.
ReplyDeleteIndeed we are.
DeleteGlorious views dear Margaret!
ReplyDeleteLoved the virtual tour with you through beautiful bright ways
