Sunset

We've stayed many times in our caravan at Wynyard on the North West Coast of Tasmania, Australia.  Now the caravan park is closed due to the owners being elderly and not well.  Yes, we will have to find somewhere else to stay in that area as the town is a sweet one and has all those things one needs in a town.
Here are few photos which I've never shown before - a Sunset looking one way, then the other way along with a straight view ahead of the beach a few steps from the caravan park and Bass Strait, the sea.

  1. Beautiful sunset and pink clouds. Looks like the bird could use a friend.

    1. That bird does look ever so lonely and from memory there wasn't another bird there, probably somewhere though. Different kind of sunset, I personally love it and don't understand why I've never shown these photos before..

  2. It looks beautiful. Hopefully someone else will take the park over and you can continue to stay there.

    1. I somehow don't reckon anyone will take it over to be a caravan park as it's very small. Their sons who live on the mainland want to build a resort on it, but it's not their land, it's their parents :)

  3. End of an era, is it? The elderly owners are closing the caravan park. Rather sad, but that's life.

    1. Thanks. I'm usually cooking at sunset when we are in the caravan or eating dinner so don't often get the chance to take sunset photos. It was a pretty sunset with good colours and interesting.

  7. As you like the area so much and it seems to be popular enough, I am surprised there isn't a buyer or operator interested in the caravan park.

    1. The people that own the caravan park, it's small have a couple of sons who live on the mainland and wish to build a resort on the land, but can't see that happening at this point. There is another caravan park there but it's closing and just keeping the cabins - a bit weird but their sites are very small.

  8. Beautiful photos of the sunset.
    Picture 2 is my favourite.
Too bad the park is closing because the owners are old and sick.
Maybe it can be sold so that the park is preserved for tourists.

    1. Thanks Irma. The couple have two sons who want to turn the caravan park into a resort of some kind, but maybe it won't happen.

  9. I was convinced when I visited Tasmania, and continue to be so, that you live in one of the most serene places on Earth. I am perfectly happy here in southern Ontario and there is no doubt that I will end my days here, but Tasmania will always summon a sense of joy from me. I loved very part of Australia that I visited, but I wouldn't wish, even for a moment, to live anywhere on the "mainland."

    1. Thanks for the kind words regarding Tasmania David. Tasmania has so many beautiful things that are just natural it sometimes can take your breath away. Of course we that live here get used to seeing things that are the same if we have travelled many times the Island.

  11. Poetic and majestic shots dear Margaret: )loved them absolutely.
The reason for caravan park closing you mentions that such park are not local authorities settlement for visitors which I thought they were but private arrangements by local people

    1. The caravan park is privately owned as many of them are in Tasmania and the remainder of Australia, some are owned by the Councils/Shires or belong to a 'Group' where by they have several caravan parks within Australia.

  12. Querida Margaret,
Se gostas de ter uma caravana, terás de procurar outro lugar, porque os donos estão doentes.
Belas photos com o pôr do sol, olhando em várias posições.

    1. It is sad Diane, the owners though elderly and not well could still do something to the amenities and so on and still keep it open - who knows.
