Pieman River, Tasmania

The Tarkine Hotel in Corinna here in Tasmania is on the edge of the Tarkine Wilderness Area, a beautiful quiet place to visit with not a lot happening.  The Pieman River is just beautiful and of course you can take a boat trip up it, down it which is apparently lovely.
We've been to the Pub here me once and my husband twice and he and his friends crossed the Pieman River on the barge with our other caravan some years back.  Hopefully we can go again to visit this wee town.
Corinna has been developed much over the years, now there are several walks to be done which many people find interesting.
Corinna is a 3 hour 30 min drive (250km) west of Launceston, a 5 hour 15 min drive (350km) north-west of Hobart, and a 2 hour 20 minute drive (169km) south-west of Devonport on the North West Coast.

    1. Even would have been nicer if the water was calmer and it showed reflections.

Beautiful river when calm and the trees are then reflected in the water.

  4. That dingy rustic building is certainly a charm. The river is peaceful looking.

  5. The river looks mighty and yet peaceful. Hopefully, it's not acting nasty and overflowing during the rains.

    1. All is good with the river, no flooding. It's a rainy area with all those trees Duta.

  10. I love the views, the river, the wry Australian humour on the sign, and the beautiful lady at the end.

  11. Sitting on that big porch sounds inviting to me. Whatever you're eating looks tasty, and I see a Christmas tree already decorated?

    1. Seeing as that Corinna is somewhat isolated management know doubt puts the decorations up early to get the full benefit of the festive season..Shops are selling Plum Puddings, Christmas decorations are still come out for us to purchase, maybe a bit different here to where you are..I wouldn't know but a thought.

    1. It is a very quiet place as not many people live there. There are cottages to hire, old building to browse and history to read on the signs.
