The Tarkine Hotel in Corinna here in Tasmania is on the edge of the Tarkine Wilderness Area, a beautiful quiet place to visit with not a lot happening. The Pieman River is just beautiful and of course you can take a boat trip up it, down it which is apparently lovely.
We've been to the Pub here me once and my husband twice and he and his friends crossed the Pieman River on the barge with our other caravan some years back. Hopefully we can go again to visit this wee town.
Corinna has been developed much over the years, now there are several walks to be done which many people find interesting.
Corinna is a 3 hour 30 min drive (250km) west of Launceston, a 5 hour 15 min drive (350km) north-west of Hobart, and a 2 hour 20 minute drive (169km) south-west of Devonport on the North West Coast.

DeleteBeautiful photos of the river.
ReplyDeleteThe second photo is my favorite.
Greetings Irma
Even would have been nicer if the water was calmer and it showed reflections.
DeleteWhat a truly beautiful area. Love that sign.
ReplyDeleteIt's a laugh that sign, suppose it's still there :)
DeleteVeramente un bel posticino.
ReplyDeleteYes it is Stefania.
DeleteThe river is absolutely beautiful. Nice sign and ferry, definitely a place to explore.
ReplyDeleteThe sign always makes me laugh when I think of what's written on it..lol
DeleteBeautiful river when calm and the trees are then reflected in the water.
The river looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely Angie.
DeleteThat dingy rustic building is certainly a charm. The river is peaceful looking.
ReplyDeleteVery different inside, it's unique.
DeleteThe river looks mighty and yet peaceful. Hopefully, it's not acting nasty and overflowing during the rains.
ReplyDeleteAll is good with the river, no flooding. It's a rainy area with all those trees Duta.
DeleteWell, there is a place to look up that I know nothing about.
ReplyDeleteThe sign is amusing too.
DeleteThat sign is a good laugh...lol Yes, maybe lunch at the Pub as we did some years ago, it was good.
DeleteBeautiful shots of the rivers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob.

DeleteI'll join the crowd--- a wonderful sign! Thanks-- I needed the smile.
ReplyDeleteGood sign I always laugh at it, many just smile, some just shake their heads :)
DeleteI love the views, the river, the wry Australian humour on the sign, and the beautiful lady at the end.
ReplyDeleteGood sign David, and thank you.
DeleteSitting on that big porch sounds inviting to me. Whatever you're eating looks tasty, and I see a Christmas tree already decorated?
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
Seeing as that Corinna is somewhat isolated management know doubt puts the decorations up early to get the full benefit of the festive season..Shops are selling Plum Puddings, Christmas decorations are still come out for us to purchase, maybe a bit different here to where you are..I wouldn't know but a thought.
Deletea christmas tree tooo :))))))Very nice pictures!Seems so relaxing!Wish i could go on a vaccation there a time in life :)))
ReplyDeletePeaceful and quiet, you can hear a pin drop in Corinna. Yes the place is decorated with Christmas tree to get the full benefit of the festive season.
