Salmon Pond 3

The Fisheries Museum within the gardens is informative with each room filled with all things one needs to go fishing with.

Continued walking around the garden seeing these beautiful trees.

Above the Plenty River from Salmon Ponds and below a view of the Restaurant from a different angle.

  1. The trees are splendid - but did you see any of the snakes?

    1. No, no snakes did we see, just a warning in case we did.
Did have a snake go over my big toe once, just ignored it and it kept going, was a long black one..

    1. That is wonderful you could see a program on Australia, it's always great to see any country for me, even more so if I know someone from that country.
      Not fond of snakes either.

  3. I know very little about fisheries , but I can appreciate beautiful trees, museums, structures. It seems Tasmania has it all.
I just hope you never encounter its snakes.

    1. Don't know much about fisheries either.
Tasmania has a lot to offer for locals and tourists, the latter probably won't be for a long time.

I'm certainly not fond of snakes, had one go over my big toe once...just ignored it and it went along it's merry way.

  5. Love those trees. The National Botanic Gardens has a similar snake sign, but it is the very dangerous Eastern Brown which is most often seen there.

  6. Great photos again, and the trees are magnificent. What a lovely place to visit except for the snakes although I have encountered a few on our trips outback but never felt too worried even when I nearly trod on one, but I just don't like them.

  8. The way you feel about Oz shows in your posts. I think that's one of the reasons I always enjoy them.

  9. It looks a lovely spot with lots of lovely shade under the trees. I presume that salmon is definitely on the menu at the restaurant - my favourite fish to cook with too.

    1. Love Salmon.
Haven't a clue what's on their menu as we couldn't get into the dinning room as there were no vacancies, maybe another time we will get to eat there.

  10. Goodness, beautiful photos! What a lovely area! Interesting about the snake sign and its information. Brave you having the snake roll over your toe once :) I like learning about them. Snakes, reptiles in general, have always fascinated me.

    1. Yes, they are interesting these creatures and it took me a long time to touch a non venomous snake in Queensland on a visit to a Zoo of some kind.

Not much I could do as the snake came towards my toe, was the best thing to stay still.

  13. Delightful snake photos - Gives me the shivers every time I see one.
I'd hate to have that black one wrapped around my leg like what happened
in Finschhafen PNG to me and being given "love bites" all down my leg.
Thankfully it turned out to be non-venomous, but that hardly counted - shock
    was the problem!

I think I was on the ABC news weather this morning that it is snowing in the Launceston area. We are in for another 4-5 days on delightful freezing rain.
I am beginning to think Terrigal is aiming for the wettest place on the planet.
    Cheers

PS: Enjoy that great Tasmanian salmon..........the best in the world!!
