Temora, NSW

After staying in Parkes we headed to Temora, NSW a place we had never been to.  How surprised we were to discover it had a fantastic aeroplane museum and a replica of a village where pilots did their training many years ago in war time.
Temora is a small farming area with very friendly helpful people.
About 6 to 8 times a year there is a 'flying' weekend in Temora with the caravan park we stayed in at the airport, how handy is that!
Also if there is an air show within some areas of Australia all the restored planes fly to the airshows.

The first photo is of the village.
Remainder of the photos shows the hanger where old planes are restored in readiness for them to fly once again.

    1. Great museum EC and more to come. I suppose we can say Temorians and they would be ever so proud and they are. Lot of pilots live in the area.
The reporter Tim Lester's mother in law lives in Temora as we met her :)

Museums are great places to visit especially if they are different to what you have seen before.

  11. A few years ago we took a group of friends in our car club to Temora for the Air Show and had a fabulous time, it was really amazing to be so close to so many wonderful planes. The first time we went to Temora the air show was not on so that was when we decided to go again to see the action and our car club decided we should be the tour guides, so we planned the trip and the overnight stops along the way. It was a lot of fun and we would love to go again. We stayed in the caravan park on site so only had to walk a short distance with our chairs and we were set up for the day. We also stayed at Ariah Park the night before the air show, which was a really nice overnight stop. Thanks for sharing.
