  1. I suspect that everyone who visits Australia wants to see a kangaroo.

    1. As close as I wanted to get, I tell you even them I was careful ready to run if necessary.

  3. So cute, I saw some at a zoo almost ten years ago, there was an open area where you could freely walk semi-close to them. They said to stay on the concrete and they would stay on the grass. They sure are not people friendly.

    1. They can do you great damage if they get annoyed that’s why it’s good idea not to get too close.

    1. They are beautiful and so many different species too.

  6. Looks as if one of them has a really big joey sticking out of her pouch. They must be quite an ordeal to carry around when they become that big.

  7. I love that one with the little guy in the pouch! They seem only mildly interested in that critter with the camera.... Great shots.

  8. Oh.... And yes Mt. St. Helens gets pretty bare in the summer-- The peak that blew off all those years ago used to keep some snow.

    1. I recall you talking about that peak some time back... :)

  9. They are as interested in you as you are them. Stars in the making. :)

The big bucks (and I'm not referring to a big win in the Lotto) are not to be toyed with, nor is a Mumma Roo with a joey in her pouch. They're powerfully strong animals...and fascinating creatures, too. Keeping a good distance from them is advisable, that is for sure.

    Great shots, Margaret. :)

  13. Margaret you have their attention. The kangaroos are giving you a eyes wide open stare.

  14. It was very well advised to keep aware of them - the old man 'roo is very dangerous and you can get ripped right open.
The "does" with a joey in the pouch is also quite capable of making a mess of a human who gets too close.
I presume there would have been warning signs around this parkland area?????
I sure hope so - then again many people don't read. No sympathy from me when an attack occurs. I just call these clots - stupid bastards!
    Cheers

    1. No warning signs what so ever, most of know the damage a too can do to us if we get too close.

    2. I'm not so sure - Overseas visitors and city slickers!
I have seen as a young kid a man's stomach which was a "restored"
mess - 1950's. He was a fencer and a roo attacked. The Goondiwindi
Hospital in those days was not too brilliant in the stitching up department way back then. He was a lucky man that fellow fencers were around and came to the rescue - his guts were all over the place and they put them back in and raced him to the hospital.
      Not a sight to see.
