Merry Christmas to each and everyone who passes this way. Be safe and have a wonderful time.
I'm sharing our city's Christmas Tree. I borrowed the photo.
A couple of videos, one rather informative regarding the 'firsts' to Launceston, Tasmania, which I found interesting.
Then a Christmas Song, Elvis Presley and Martina McBride followed by
Ray Stevens - 'It's me again Margaret' ( you got to laugh at this one )
and
Jen Lilley with Eric Marstolf singing 'Baby it's cold outside'.
Lastly, a Tasmanian Devil in Costume.

Ohhhh...the comic character Taz was always my fav. I have a few tokens of him about my office, including a mug holding my pens. Never imagined one could be so cute, willing to be dressed up for a photo. Darling.

DeleteYes he does look nice all dressed up :). They are not that cute in reality though.

People are complaining about the warm December weather here in the United States. I know a hot Christmas is normal for you guys.
ReplyDeleteOh it's warm there...seems no snow then in the areas that should receive it.
DeleteGoing to be 30 degC here in Launceston for Christmas Day which is amazing, we usually done have it quite that hot on Christmas Day..
Merry Christmas. That tree is beautiful. I love that song by Ray Stevens. He attended Georgia State University at the same time as my older sister, Karen!!! He writes such funny songs!!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteOh really regarding RaynStevens :). He doe have some funny song...

Kisses
Thank you.

Holy Hell - I never knew of all the "FIRSTS" that Launceston has. Remarkable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a picture perfect place is Wineglass Bay!
I shall NOW be obliged to put Launceston on the top of my "weather reports" - I can now see why you were a bit "miffed" - ha ha!
Nice sleeping weather night here last night - oh to just stay like this till March - wishful dreams I think!
I can see a job in Tasmanian Tourism Authority beckoning.
Cheers
Colin
I told my Quiz ( The Australian paper) mates about the Launceston Turf Club, they were quite delighted that we were all correct on that question
Deleteand now verified by video.
Colin
Interesting is history..it's amazing what we find out sometimes.
DeleteMiffed, indeed! Lol..
At least you were all right on the Turf Club..
Interesting to hear about your town and that's a lovely Christmas tree. So many lights! The little devil doesn't look very devilish at all! Where did you take that photo? Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteIt's a rare thing to see the Devil like that!
DeleteI didn't take the photo, someone at the Tasmania Zoo did apparently. I borrowed it.
Thanks re Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you..
That is the best photo I have ever seen of Wine Glass Bay and the only photo of a Devil that makes one look vaguely friendly. I will listen to the videos later.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful photo, and no one seems to know who took it. I didn't.
DeleteMost photos of the Devil make it look ferocious, except in that photo below.
I now know why it's called Wine Glass Bay it's stunning never seen a picture before.
ReplyDeleteHe is a funny man not sure I would want him calling me, but I'm not Margaret.
Merle.........
Oh really!
DeleteOh Ray certainly has some funny songs.
Sliced bread and inventing the wheel was left out of the Launceston video :-P
ReplyDeletelol..
DeleteYou are funny Andrew :)
That is a stunning photo of Wineglass Bay. And... I don't think I've ever seen a Tasmanian devil close up - seems to resemble a wombat.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice photo, I didn't take it, no one seems to know who did.
DeleteI expect they do in some way resemble a wombat but of course two very different creatures.
Ray Stevens is very funny! I have "Baby It's Cold Outside" posted today too, but different singers.
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas Devil, that's so cute.
Ray is a scream at times with his song.
DeleteYou know they say, great minds think alike :)
Okay, I've watched the history video now; Launceston has been a busy little place, all those firsts.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing, isn't it!
DeleteLooks like the Launceston video link isn't there any more. I'll have a look for it as Id like to see it. I'm sure I can find it somewhere. Agree with others about Wineglass Bay - wonderful view. Lovely Christmas tree too Margaret. Very best wishes to you and your family for Christmas and 2016.
ReplyDeleteThe link is still there for me - have no idea why you can't play it.
DeleteHope you can find it, it's certainly worth looking at.
Merry Christmas to you too and a Happy New Year...
Thanks Craig.
I came back to check the video again Margaret and this time it worked for me. Most impressive for such a modest size of city.
