In a land down under where the creatures hop,
A kangaroo penned a verse that made him stop.
He rhymed about the stars, the sun, and the moon,
But his best line was about the afternoon.
"It's too hot to write", he said with a leap,
"So I'll finish this poem after a good, long sleep'.
Cute and true poem! Sometimes it Does get too hot to do much! lol

ReplyDeletelol, EC and true.
DeleteNice short poem, I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill.
DeleteThey seem like such fierce creatures but I still want to pet one. lol
ReplyDeleteThey can be fierce at times, even tame ones in the zoo or where people have tamed them, but you still have to watch out. In a zoo probably you could pat one.
DeleteΩραίο το ποίημα για το καγκουρό!

Thank you.
DeleteI will read your instructions well.
I liked this, they are such wonderful animals
ReplyDeleteGlad you did Jo-Anne.
DeleteThe poem reads very laid back and iconic
ReplyDeleteSure does, typical of many Australians.
DeleteAmazing how they can even move/hop with a joey in the pouch.
ReplyDeleteThat one should be at the ejection stage!
Miserable weather here for the umpteenth day - almost blinded when that yellow thing appears yet the beaches are packed with holidayers and young schoolies
doing lifesaving courses - the medallion courses, I did them all when at college.
The final ones were NOT easy. Towing much bigger boys the length of an Olympic
pool by your teeth and one on your back and then doing the mouth to mouth stuff.
Oh God what days of youth were like!!!!
Cheers
Colin
Different back then when you was a boy, Colin.
DeleteI thought the same regarding the Joey but they do hang in there for a long time.
Querida amiga, precioso poema, me encantó.
ReplyDeleteQue lindo el cangurito con su hijito, una ternura.
Abrazos y te dejo un besito, que tengas un feliz inicio de semana.
Thank you, Liz, and same to you.
DeleteLindo poema. Me gustan los canguros. Te mando un beso.

ReplyDeleteYes it sure does help R.

ReplyDeleteThanks Angie.
DeleteDelightful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrew, it's cute.
DeleteYes, and I believe its getting warm/hot in NZ and Australia now?
ReplyDeleteWe're freezing in London.
Snow up your way so I'm told, well in some areas and lots of rain.
DeleteYes, it's getting warmer, some areas are really rather hot at the moment. Our weather is just nice, warm without being too hot so far.
Yes, we have a storm. But I'm in the south of england which tends to be milder! But it's still v. cold.
DeleteThank goodness.
Upload some summery warm pics for those of us in europe!! haah
I'm sure I can so that :)
DeleteBeautiful photos and poem.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the first photo.
Greetings Irma
Thank you, Irma. The first photo is a nice one, we were at a caravan park way up north and inland when all these kangaroos came with their joeys for a visit.
DeleteEvery time I see a kangaroo I am reminded of happy times spent in Australia.
ReplyDeleteThat's good David, I'm pleased they were happy times.
DeleteLovely post.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne.

ReplyDeleteThank you

ReplyDeleteA lovely post :)
All the best Jan
Thank you, Jan. Simple and sweet.
DeleteSo cute. I like the last line sounds like me.
ReplyDeleteLike many of us, Diane.
DeleteI wonder if mother kangaroo can sleep in the heat with a jolly big Joey in her pouch.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do Hels. Kangaroos sleep with their joeys in their pouch on hot days. When Kangaroos hop as in slow or fast, they have powerful muscles in their pouches to keep the joey's safe.
DeleteBonitas imágenes bonito poema dedicado a uno de los símbolos de tu tierra como es el Canguro.
