Horse on the Beach

Along the North West Coast of Tasmania is a beach called Turners Beach which also has a caravan park and years ago we used to go and stay for the weekend when we owned our business to get away from it all.  I used to ride my horse when we lived on the farm before moving to the city.  Everyday, I rode so it was pleasant to see these people on horseback walking and galloping along the beach.  It brought back happy memories.

    1. Indeed EC. It is a good beach when tides is out, further to shoreline there are pebbles, one of a few in Tasmania that have pebbles.

  11. Does the horse mind getting at least some way into the water? I imagine in summer it is quite hot.

    1. Horses don't seem to mind the water as I've often seen them galloping at the waters edge. Can be rather hot in summer but they don't seem to mind as it's usually done in the evening time down here.

    1. Thank you Jan. The horse appear to love it, they can gallop, trot or walk for a long time along there, sort of gives them some freedom.

  16. On one of our visits to the coast, we were walking a beach when two young girls on horseback galloped by. It's amazing how much noise those hooves make-- even on sand.

  20. You quite often see the racehorses being exercised in Botany Bay right at the end of mascot airport. The planes don't seem to worry them in the least.
