Colourful Plants in Cairns, Queensland

Cairns up in the tropics of Australia is a good place for a holiday.  Many things to see and do if you love scenery.  We've been there several times and stayed in the same caravan park each time.  This caravan park has some beautiful plants in their garden, here in Tasmania we mostly have them indoors as do other places in Australia.  I don't recall all the names, but do enjoy the colours.

  1. Really beautiful flowers. A few of the flowers look familiar. They are also for sale here.

    1. They are very interesting, one town we went to they were growing in the street and had such an amazing root system.

  6. These are gorgeous flowers Margaret, beautifully taken. I don't know if I have ever told you this, but my favorite holidays when I was young was going back to this one caravan park on the ocean down in Devon, year after year, before we actually moved down there. I always loved feeding the seagulls through the window in the roof. Great memories and thanks for these beautiful flowers.

  10. The tropics are wonderful...in winter time. There are so many plants alien to us southerners.

    1. Always nice and warm in the tropics for winter Andrew, the best time to travel there. There plants they grow outside are certainly different what we can grow outside.

    1. The palms, now they do make a mess at times outside but they are rather nice before they get too tall.
Rought weather then it seems Colin, today is a beautiful day here, yesterday we had a good steady rain, good for the lawns and garden.

    1. I think most of the plants can be grown in the southern areas in the right place outside and of course only some inside. Cairns is rather nice, we always enjoyed our holidays there and above Cairns too.
