Photos of Cradle Mountain one of Tasmania's tourist attractions, and many short and long walks to do in this area. I've shown Cradle Mountain before, and this post has some beautiful photos of the area if you wish to click on that link and looks for the first time or the second time. I'm showing you some of my photos taken last time we were there in the summertime and it was 30degC, however, the mountain weather changes very quickly and can be freezing in seconds.
The mountain is 1545 meters (5069 feet) high above sea level, the Lake is called Dove Lake, yes, I've walked around that lake many times over the years and the pathway has improved immensely.
Do you swim in the lake in summer?
ReplyDeleteIcy water Hels. I've never seen anyone swimming in there. It's always colder there, that day it was just a warm day which doesn't happen there often.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful. Super reflection, very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill. Beautiful up there as you say.
DeleteAmazing place.
ReplyDeleteIt is Anne.
DeleteSuch a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Angie.
DeleteEsos cambios tan brusco de temperaturas, te puede provocar algún que otro resfriado.
ReplyDeleteSon precios los paisajes que has captado.
Un abrazo.
Thank you. Always carry a warm coat just incase.

DeleteThat mountain reflection is just so gorgeous
ReplyDeleteIt sure is. Love the last photo I borrowed from someone. It's the matter of being there at the right time.
DeleteBellas montañas. Me gusto la ultima foto. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo the last one.
DeleteBare legs and arms tell us it was warm. Thirty must be high for such an elevated area. It's a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteWas hot, too hot to be walking around the lake or doing other walks. I remember we went up Ben Lomond one year at it was 30 deg but very windy.
DeleteSuch a beautiful place, lovely photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteOh what a great place to hike to. This reminds me of when I lived in the PNW of the U.S.

Yes, many people walk the paths up there.
DeleteLovely place to take a walk, the reflected snowy muntain is a lovely picture. I think Cradle Maountain is where the grandkids hopped out of the car to make teeny tiny snowmen many years ago.
ReplyDeleteThat would be fair to say that would be the place they made a little snowman R.
DeleteIt seems like a lovely walk and it is a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite dramatic that the weather can change so quickly, so you should make sure you have warm clothes with you when you go for a walk there.
Greetings Irma
You are right Irma. People have had to be rescued up at the mountain when walking because they hadn't worn the correct clothing or shoes.
DeleteI hate to show my ignorance, but I didn't know Tasmania had mountains like that. Another great post!
ReplyDeleteIt's ok, you probably never looked for mountains in Tasmania, so how would you or anyone else know. Thank you.
DeleteMakes me long to return to Tasmania!
ReplyDeleteYou were indeed impressed with the Island it seems David.
