Up the mountain

Photos of Cradle Mountain one of Tasmania's tourist attractions, and many short and long walks to do in this area.  I've shown Cradle Mountain before, and this post has some beautiful photos of the area if you wish to click on that link and looks for the first time or the second time.  I'm showing you some of my photos taken last time we were there in the summertime and it was 30degC, however, the mountain weather changes very quickly and can be freezing in seconds.

The mountain is 1545 meters (5069 feet) high above sea level, the Lake is called Dove Lake, yes, I've walked around that lake many times over the years and the pathway has improved immensely.

A photo borrowed from the internet of snow on the mountain.

    1. Icy water Hels. I've never seen anyone swimming in there. It's always colder there, that day it was just a warm day which doesn't happen there often.

  8. Bare legs and arms tell us it was warm. Thirty must be high for such an elevated area. It's a beautiful place.

    1. Was hot, too hot to be walking around the lake or doing other walks. I remember we went up Ben Lomond one year at it was 30 deg but very windy.

  11. Lovely place to take a walk, the reflected snowy muntain is a lovely picture. I think Cradle Maountain is where the grandkids hopped out of the car to make teeny tiny snowmen many years ago.

  12. It seems like a lovely walk and it is a beautiful place.
It is quite dramatic that the weather can change so quickly, so you should make sure you have warm clothes with you when you go for a walk there.

    1. You are right Irma. People have had to be rescued up at the mountain when walking because they hadn't worn the correct clothing or shoes.
