The Sandbar

Husband went to the dentist about 2 weeks ago and had a big tooth surgically removed, 6 stitches and a bruised jaw and purple chin followed, he's recovered well and awaits another appointment in August for the other side to be done.

The Sandbar at St. Helens on the east coast of Tasmania can of course be very dangerous.  The fishing boats must cross it at the correct time of the tide.  A guide is [ here ] if you would care to read about how it's done or suggested for safety.
Down near the jetty which is situated away from the sandbar so smaller boats can come and go easily is a small beach where I took they last three photos.

    1. The beach does look isolated but I'm told many people get there in summer holidays. Seems as if the family did have a good time.

  10. I really need to see a dentist but can't afford it, also I really don't like seeing dentist as I have a small mouth and I can't open very wide, so even though I have a broken back tooth, it will just have to wait, thankfully I have no pain. I like the photos

  14. Surgically removed teeth is a horrible thing to go through. He has my sympathy.
After a skim of the sand bar crossing instructions, I have decided to leave it to the professionals.

    1. Took him a long time to make up his mind to go to the dentist but eventually he had to go and did of course. I certainly would do the same regarding that bar.

  15. Well I trust Hubby gets better with that damn tooth problem.
Any mouth problems are just bloody awful.

Certainly tranquil those views but with present Tassie weather conditions,
I hope that beach scene doesn't end up at the bottom of Chile !!!
Great photos Margaret as is your expertise photography.
    Cheers

    1. You will learn what sandbars are like when you visit the area, you can see it for yourself or ask a local. I'm sure you will come across others as well.
      Thanks regards B.

  30. Beautiful beach... what a pleasure :-))) to be there.
It's true, whoever ventures into the sea should really understand something about it... the water has a power that we can't even imagine.
I was diving in the North Sea a long time ago and also in the Norwegian Sea... it is only possible with an exact tide table and in good weather.
Have fun at the stand and a warm greeting from me.
Fingers crossed for your husband that everything goes well.
