Carlton Beach

Carlton Beach is 40km east of Hobart in Tasmania.  Every time I've been there it's been very windy, nearly blows the camera out of your hands.

The beach was given the name by a whaler in 1806.
Carlton has a good surf club and holds competitions as in a surfing carnival. The club was established in 1975, the first surf carnival being held in 1956.
The area of Carlton is both rural and urban.

Further update of the caravan - it's been sold :) photos below the first two of when the caravan was new back in May 2015.  It had a bathroom which included a separate shower, toilet, wash basin, washing machine and cupboards.

    1. Thank you. It's always good to find a nice sheltered area to camp if one can, it's hard sometimes due to the wind..

  2. Why did you sell it? The photos look very appealing.

    1. It was time to Hels, husband was tired of hooking the caravan up and all that goes with it, as he has to do that and I did the inside. We have travelled in the winter to many States and both Territories many times year after year, and travelled Tasmania too (Summer time), did this for about 20 years, so time to sell as getting too old for it now :) maybe stay in Motels or such now if we decided to go in our summer in Tasmania.

  3. It had, as far as I can see, everything I needed to spend a comfortable holiday there. Margaret surely you have already planned how to spend your holidays from now on. We had one with which we toured all over Argentina but, there comes a time when you have to decide.

    1. Yes there does come a time when you have to decided and that we did together, but it's fun if you like that type of lifestyle.

That is one gorgeous beach, but a windy beach can be a stinging experience.

Plenty of peaceful beaches in Tasmania, people just don't seem to frequent them like they used to do. Well not as many people probably,

    1. Certainly was a complete home on wheels, we ate in the caravan as we do here at home, I often cooked a roast dinner in the oven rather than in the barbecue.

    1. Thank you. The caravan has been sold Angelo and the reason we have travelled in the winter to warmer climates of Australia for about 20 years now, and travelled in the summer here on the Island and home again in between, comes a times to bring it to and end.

  30. Although the place is quite windy as you write, the views fully compensate for everything. And the caravan is great, I'm sure the new buyer will be happy, even though it's a few years old...

    1. Good view of the sea there. Yes, someone who buys it or has bought the caravan should have a wonderful time and not have to do much inside to change it. Though people will change certain things to make it their own.
