A drive

We went for a drive the other day and I took these photos with my phone as we travelled along. The first photo is someone's lane, a farmer's one.  The remainder of the shots are as we drove along.

The mountain in the distance is called Ben Lomond which sometimes has snow on it and can be seen from our house through the family room windows.

The little town of Ballroom.  It has one house which on the opposite side of the road.  Have no idea why there is only one house there.

    1. Yes, strange it is however I expect there are a few more houses attached to farms in the area..

  3. A delightful drive. I wonder whether that one house town was bigger once, and what caused the people to move away...

    1. Could have been more houses closer to one another but can't find any history on the town Ballroom...houses attached to farms probably in the area.

    1. I should imagine the first photo is the lane to a farm house with a beautiful view looking for miles.

    1. Thank you. Always good to take a drive and take photos even if moving they seem to come out alright 'mostly'. Once we used to walk in the bush but too old for that now.

  7. One house makes a town. It looks like it was a late afternoon drive.

    1. It was late afternoon as you could/can tell by the light. Probably other farm houses in the area Andrew.

    1. Thanks. Being winter we expect it to be lovely and green, in summer it's usually very dry in that area.

    1. Thanks Irma. That header photo is a camellia called Margaret Davis and is growing up the side of our house where it's a bit sheltered.

    1. Thanks David, as you know our cities are not that big and the remainder apart from a few mountains, plantations, trees, world heritage areas and lakes is farmland.

    1. Thank you. One always can't stop and take what we see outside the car due to bends in the road, or nowhere to park at all.
