This Sunday my husband and myself are having the Covid-19 Vaccine. Our Dr. sent us a text message to book which I did, only have to wait 4 days.
Penguin in Tasmania is another place we drove to not long after Valentines Day. It's a small town where many people from mainland Australia have settled and are settling to live. The foreshore is being redone with a new footpath, rocks put in place on the wall at the beach, a height of activity the morning we visited.
Penguin painting everywhere in the main street nearly and there is a penguin colony not too far away, they are Fairy Penguins.
Don't recall having ever seen penguins in real life. I'm glad to see them mentioned in your post. The picture with the penguin and his Valentines heart is hard to forget.
ReplyDeleteThe people of Penguin always dress the Penguin up in something for special occasions. I've never seen a penguin either that I can recall.
DeleteI love penguins but never seen one. I see that Chicken, Alaska made the sign, that would be quite a long journey.
ReplyDeleteHad you and your wife in mind when I took the photo of the sign. Would be a long way and not sure how the distance was done for the sign, it looks a bit short - may as the crow flies they did the distance.
DeleteGlad that you are getting the shot. Love the scenes from Penguin - a bird I am particularly fond of.
ReplyDeleteWe are also pleased about getting the 'jab' and lucky to be getting it so early in the piece as well. The fairy penguins are beautiful according to the photos I've seen.
DeletePenguin is absolutely delightful and I wish we had stayed there a couple of nights.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time you visit you can stay in Penguin.
Deletebonita y tranquila palaya. Me gusta las pinturas de los pingúinos a lo largo de la valla.
ReplyDeleteBesos
The paintings are lovely and other places have them painted on too.
DeleteThe Sign post.
ReplyDeleteChicken, Alaska ???? 1328 klms.
Birdsville, Qld.........1803 klms.
Seems this is incorrect.
I am sure Alaska is far further north than the middle of Qld.
Well in my geographical/atlas book it is.
Colin
Maybe they did the mileage as the crow flies for I got much larger figures as well.

DeleteRosie is correct. On closer examination of that signage, it is 13,281 kms.
DeleteCertainly tested my fading eyesight.
So good to note that some followers do look at all the bloggers details.
Colin
Such lovely photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteChicken, Alaska sounds like a great place to visit when we can (13,281 km) but it is a long way from here! I like signs like that, puts everything into perspective, and makes me realise how far away we are from the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteI like them too and the direction they are facing intrigues me as well. Got about the same mileage as you did.
DeleteLindos pinguinos los adoro. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteEnamorada de las letras
I've only seen photos of little penguins 'Fairy penguins' maybe one day I might get to see the real ones.
