More of Bells Parade, Latrobe

The grounds of Bells Parade and picnic area plus views of the river.  The old house was the caretakers cottage back in the day.  A large platypus is their to view as well.

Came across a tree there with these pretty berries.

    1. To me that sculpture of the platypus should be higher so one can see the shape of it better.

  5. Peaceful, beautiful, lovely. I didn't know about the 'big' platypus before. I hope they still thrive in the area.

    1. Elusive at time are the platypuses, haven't heard about there being a shortage of them. It's a big sculpture but should be up higher so it can be seen better.

  6. Those look like Hawthorn berries - I have a Hawthorn hedge in the garden which will soon be covered in white blossom which will then yield red berries in the Autumn.

  9. The old caretaker's cottage probable has many stories hidden away within its walls.

The only time I've seen a platypus in the "wild" was up in a creek at Eungella...up in the Pioneer Valley...west of Mackay. Such a sweet little fellow he was...and I felt thrilled, and honoured, to have seen him.
