For a day drive we continued past Sheffield where all the Murals are onto Gowrie Park passing Mt. Roland which is mere 1234 meters high. 4048ft. We travelled 3/4 of the way around the mountain up to a lookout, and wouldn't you know it, trees in the way of the view. I'm not condemning trees at all, but why did we travel around a windy road for several km to find the view when you can't really see it, guess we went to see what was there :).
Gowrie Park has a caravan park a creek and a handful of people. A peaceful place.
Beautiful local and great scenery
ReplyDeleteInteresting and funny sculpture at ONeills Creek
Be well and healthy
Yes the sculpture is an odd funny one.
DeleteThanks.
Beautiful view of sky, mountain, and park. That is a cute sculpture.
ReplyDeleteSomewhat a very different scupture.
DeleteGowrie is a suburb quite close to where I live. Gowrie Park looks much more appealing.
ReplyDeleteLove the quirky sculpture too.
Really, two Gowrie park's in Australia - similar to the town name of Richmond, a few of those within our country too.
DeleteLos paisajes son hermosos y también me ha llamado la atención esa pequeña estatua confeccionada de forma rudimentaria.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Caught my attention too that sculpture - didn't see it there before, on our last visit through that way.
DeleteThe place looks lovely, very appealing and peaceful. I love the view of the montain, it's very pretty. What a aunique sculpture too, I like it.
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful and a lovely mountainous drive through that way.
DeleteMount Roland looks very rugged. It is a bit silly to have a lookout where the view is blocked.
ReplyDeleteVery rugged up there on Mt. Roland, just rocks and large ones at that, no trees right up there either, well none that I can see.
DeleteSo many lookouts in Australia you go to trees are in the way.
Mt. Roland looks very majestic - I particularly like that first view you showed.
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Mt. Roland was taken on the highway where there is just no where to safely part, so just a quick stop on a bit of a straight road to take the photo.
DeleteSuch nice photos
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo-Anne.
DeleteAn amazing mountain! And a sculpture I'd like to have!
ReplyDeleteThe mountain has a bit of snow on it in winter but doesn't stay there long.
DeleteThere is so much of your beautiful state I was unable to visit, and if ever I get the chance to return I will rectify that omission!
ReplyDeleteThat would be lovely David, so much to see with so little time. Many people from other parts of Australia come to visit for 3 months, some stay 2 years and don't get to see it all.
Deleteoh these images are heavenly specially first one dear Margaret !
ReplyDeletei don't know how i missed your latest posts :( but i am here and regularly visit hopefully
the lush lovely place with splendid views and gorgeous mountains :)
glad you are back safely from summer holidays
Thanks Baili. Be off again on an autumn holiday :)
DeleteТакие красивые пейзажи, что кажутся нереальными! Дорогая Маргарет, спасибо, яидела хотя бы у Вас в блоге.
ReplyDeleteYou have indeed seen my blog - and thank you.
DeleteThe scenery in your photos is always breathtaking Margaret. Delightful sculpture and I always enjoy the maps you share. Thank you for taking us along on your drive.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Denise. I remember you like a map and it's good because that way you know where I have taken the photos.
DeleteEl paisaje se ve bonito. Besos.
ReplyDeleteYes it does in my opinion too Teresa.
DeleteHello Margaret,
