Home again after being away for 22 days with one week in Devonport, 5 days in Stanley and 10 days in Wynyard Tasmania. Had beautiful weather however, windy in Stanley.
Devonport is a city along the north west coast of Tasmania.
Hope you have been well whilst I've been gone and I expect some have had the Covid-19 shot.
The photos below are of Bass Strait and the view is from our caravan or a few steps towards the sea.
The blue boat is a freighter and the red one is the ferry to Melbourne called the Spirit of Tasmania. The crossing takes about 11 hours.
Welcome back!!
ReplyDeleteA nice place to visit.
Thank you Catarina.
DeleteI pleased that you had a lovely break away and returned home safely. You didn't venture across the water to Australia this year as you often do.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosemary.
DeleteNo, not going across to the remained of Australia this year again. Been so many places we don't know where to go that would be different, plus we are a bit long in tooth to travel with the caravan such vast distances now. With Covid-19 we don't know when the borders of the other States and Territories may close including Tasmanian borders - we are all Australian :)
Glad you're home safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill.
DeleteCon lo bien que se está de viaje! Bienvenida a tu hogar.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Thanks Jordi :)
DeleteWelcome back home! Glad you've had good weather on the trip!
ReplyDeleteBoth boats, the blue and the red one, look gracious.
11 hours to Melbourne? That sounds like quite a long journey!
Thanks you Duta.
DeleteIt is a long voyage and is nearly a holiday on it's own when going to the mainland. We usually travel on the night sailing but we won't be going with the caravan again but in the future with just our vehicle we wait and see but I don't expect we will.
Welcome back. I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteThank you EC. Yes we did have a lovely time and met several lovely people - even some our own age which is amazing in itself :)
DeleteRight On And Welcome Back - Looking Forward To Tales And Pix
ReplyDeleteCheers
Thank you Padre.
DeleteHope your holiday was all ou hoped for
ReplyDeleteIt was Jo-Anne which is good.
DeleteYou were clever to take the beach photo at low tide. My photo of the same beach was at high tide and included lots of dead seaweed.
ReplyDeleteThat beach is not a spectacular one that's for sure. Not the safest either but people do swim in it and have fun.
DeleteWell Andrew, the tide was out and coming in most evening we were there :)
Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful break.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan - yes, had a lovely time and a great break away from normal activities at home here.
DeleteMuy bella serie de imagenes, amiga
ReplyDeleteUn saludo
Thank you :)
DeleteWe flew from Hobart to Tasmania since taking the ferry, delightful though it may have been, would have occupied a full day of our vacation.
ReplyDeleteTrue if you were to sail on a daytime sailing which is not always - we used to sail in the night time then we were early to head up north. Plane is of course much quicker and ideal in your situation.
DeleteHobart to Melbourne that should say.
ReplyDelete:)
