The noise and the Caravan Park.

Down Huonville Tasmania we stayed in the caravan park there, beautiful green grass and a large park.
We are all thinking of going there for Christmas, would be different.

The day before we left in the afternoon the cockatoos were making a very loud noise for just ages, usually when this happens something is going to happen as in rain, bad weather.  They were right those cockatoos, it poured during the night and the wind howled - natures birds are wonderful creature letting us know.

Photos are of the caravan park. There is a small river that runs at the bottom of the park called Mountain River, people swim in it and go kayaking they were doing that when we were there as the weather was rather warm for April.

Photo borrowed.

Eldest son setting up his caravan with our van to his left of the photo.

The fire-pit we used most towards dinner time.

  4. It looks like a truly lovely spot. You are so right about the birds too. I have a huge weak spot for those beautiful, noisy vandals.

    1. The grass was amazing, thick and green, have never come across grass like it especially for a caravan park.
Oh they do make a racket but are beautiful parrots.

There is nothing like a cosy fire to sit by, we ate dinner there a few times in the late evening, eating in the dark :)

    1. We didn't hear the cockatoos in the morning times, sometimes in the evening but that afternoon they were loud, one just knew something was going to happen.

  8. Very picturesque area.
Cockatoos are very noisy birds........we have them in their thousands here and when they decide to squawk the noise is deafening. Mornings and late afternoons when they are going and returning from their feeding areas.
However I love them as they don't take kindly to those murderous Indian Myrna birds!

    1. A pile of them together, really noisy but somehow I like to hear them screech as we don't have them here at home making such a noise.

    1. Hopefully you can do that when he becomes older, though many Australians do what we do with little children.

I cooked a baked dinner (Turkey) in the gas oven for Easter Sunday's dinner in the evening - just like I would at home here :)

    1. It is Jo-Anne, though many complain about it being a bit expensive but that doesn't stop many from staying there. Mainland prices in some areas are move expensive.

  13. That's a fabulous cockatoo photo. I like fire pits, a family member has one on their property, really big and surrounded by concrete and seating, it's a popular gathering place when the sun goes down after one of their barbecues.

    1. I could have taken a photo but the cockatoos were across on the other side of the river up on the trees which looked white! So many cockatoos.
Fire pits are so lovely, eldest son is going to get one of his own, so when we go with them we can all gather around it..

  16. Hum, I wonder what it would be like to have live cockatoos around the neighborhood. I think it would be cool. They're so beautiful.

    1. We have had two at our house not at the same time.
Had a big Avery built and a swing, wonderful talkers.
Used to cover the whole cage in the evening time so he wouldn't make a noise to annoy the neighbours, eventually he went to a farm..
