Back to last years holiday 2016 in Winter in Australia.
Whist in Cairns we drove to Lake Morris a beautiful drive up the hills in the rain forest. Good view looking back on the way down.
Lake Morris is the major water supply for Cairns and was completed in 1976, plus there is a Dam nearby called Copperlode Dam and falls if you wish to climb to view. There is a picnic area there and a Cafe which was closed the day we drove there.
Vine climbing tree, we saw lots of these
The Cafe
Cairns a small area.
I THINK ir is a lovely place to visit it in the SUMMER and looks not too crowded
ReplyDeleteI should imagine in the summer time it would be busier at times, but it's probably too warm and humid in the summer, and it was out winter.
DeleteWow! Dazzling scenery!
ReplyDelete'Tis lovely :)
DeleteI wish we had some overlooks in Florida...but when you live on a pancake, not a lot of horizons
ReplyDeleteFlat is certainly a problem to many, but then again it has it's advantages.
DeleteWow what awesome views
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views all up that way Jo-Anne.
DeleteWhat a lovely spot Margaret, and it looks as if you had it all to yourselves.
ReplyDeleteBeing winter only a few people were about and it began to rain, the photos were hasty and we had to run for cover.
DeleteThat really does seem to be a pretty spot. Thanks for sharing with your excellent pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.

DeleteHello from Idaho. Gee we had sunshine but also snow. Sure looks like a nice place to take a walk.
ReplyDeleteCame in from Andrew and if you fine the time stop on by for a cup of coffee.
Was lovely there when there - home now..
DeleteThank will come by.
The views are amazing; I wouldn't mind waking up to that every day.
ReplyDeleteWould be nice, has most things - trees and water, a bird or two.
DeleteHappy New Year! Wonderful photos and such a pretty part of Australia.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too - 'tis pretty up there in Cairns...but we do have a unique country, it's pretty anyway.
DeleteNice. You didn't make it to the falls? I suppose with tropical rain at the same time every year, Cairns doesn't need huge water storages.
ReplyDeleteNo it was raining and I doubt if B could walk that far, depends on the day to how far he can walk.
DeleteRained whilst we were there in the 'dry'!
What a lovely place. Like that first picture, the way it is framed with the tree.
ReplyDeleteThank you...not always easy to get a framed photo.
DeleteLovely place to be Margaret.
ReplyDeleteWas lovely there Bob..it's a long way from home though.
DeleteThey are beautiful the landscapes that you have captured.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful place to spend a good holiday.

DeleteLooks like the perfect place to have a picnic.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely would be.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I really do have to get back up to this area. It's been at least 20 years since I visited Cairns.
ReplyDeleteI expect all the trees would be the same - a nice place to visit and live for those wishing to.
DeleteLovely place to visit...
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is amazing, the way the tree is in the foreground and the rest of the picture is backdrop.
ReplyDeleteLovely views and great shots.
ReplyDeleteI like the view in the first photo. Including the tree in the foreground enhances the scene.
ReplyDeletegreat looking views!
ReplyDeleteIt is scenically outstanding, especially when one contemplates the weather Queensland sometimes has to deal with.
ReplyDeleteMy that scenery looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Wishes
All the best Jan
